Comments about Granite Gear Meridian Vapor Pack:
I am what I would call a "comfort driven minimalist i.e. I dont want to go sacrifice, just nothing excesive. This pack after one test is awesome, with about 20# for a solo overnighter. Everything fit inside with plenty of room to spare.. tent, bag, clothes, pad, and everything else. The side pockets are my favorite. They stretch well, and dont snag easily, like mesh. You can easily trim ounces if you so desire. There is alot to trim from straps and buckles, especially from the lid, which is set-up to double as a waist pack.

Comments about Granite Gear Meridian Vapor Pack:
For ultralight trips in the mountains, this pack with the front access zipper is great. The suspension is very comfortable and I can access gear and clothes easily.
CAUTION: It is ultralight and so comfortable, it's easy to forget and overload. Best used with an ultralight 32F sleeping bag, down vest, raingear, lightwt tent, etc... A 15F tent and heavier gear can cause pain as the suspension cannot handle it all day.

Comments about Granite Gear Meridian Vapor Pack:
For loads under 33 lbs--30 or under ideally, this is incredibly comfortable.
Forms to your body--a bit sweaty in the back, but almost all packs are..
Just enough features--had the Vapor Trail and traded in for this--the extra 14oz is worth having the front loader zipper, and the top lid with zipper.
Trimmed the straps, and cut off any unwanted clasps, and saved nearly
3 oz.
I'm 6'3" 180 and it fits me perfect with a Large pack and a Medium hip belt--customizable.
Plenty of room, but keep it very balanced for best performance/comfort.
Good locations for adjustment straps.
Could use a mesh large pocket in rear...I may try to sew one on.
This is pack is "the one" for year-round backpacking. Like any ultralight gear, it is a bit more delicate, to be treated with care.
As long as it's under 30 lbs--completely comfortable 100% of the time.
I purchased this nearly 2 years ago and I would buy this same pack today.
