Comments about CamelBak Octane 8+ Hydration Pack - 70 oz.:
I've owned this pack since it first came out. I brought it with me to Africa a few years ago. I worked in a hospital and it carried all my gear fantastically. Over the 3 months i lived in Ghana it was my go to pack. It went on multiple hikes in the African jungle. I then used it for the next two years at school. I still have it and its the best pack ever. It has one cut in it, which was my fault. But the rip hasn't spread and everything else is completely intact. I wouldn't buy any other pack.

Comments about CamelBak Octane 8+ Hydration Pack - 70 oz.:
I used this pack on a mountain daytrek, and found it incredibly comfortable and stable, even while running downhill, and climbing narrow twisting trails. I had been concerned that the 70 oz reservoir might not be adequate, but still had some water left at the end of the hike.
As a women with a shorter upper body, I find most packs sit too high, so the straps rub on my neck, or they're too stiff, or the straps across the chest are uncomfortable. This product uses softer, more flexible fabric, and the straps are super soft and comfortable - even with a tank top. The chest strap is adjustable and easy to get to.
My only beef is that the fabric is not sufficiently water resistant. We got caught in a couple of moderate showers, and most of my stuff was a bit damp at the end. I'll try spraying it with a water-resistant product before taking it out next to see if that helps. It could use a couple more pockets, but you have to give up something for smaller size, so it's pretty good there.
I LOVE my Octane!!

Comments about CamelBak Octane 8+ Hydration Pack - 70 oz.:
I use this when I ride around NYC and commute to work on my bike. The pouches on the waist strap comes in handy to store keys, so u don't have to take your backpack off and dig around for your keys to lock up your bike. The innovative compression system works great. Besides the 2 waist pouches, there's only one tiny little zipper pocket in the front big enough to hold a small travel size sunblock, a pen & a chap stick. I guess this would be the only drawback. The bag is light and works great. I have had at least half a dozen of hydration packs in the past, this is by far the best.
