Comments about Cannondale Bad Boy Bike:
Before I get started, I would like to let everyone know that I am reviewing the Bad Boy with rim brakes (lowest priced model).
I purchased this bike last summer at a members only scratch and dent sale and I must say it is one of the best bikes I have ever owned. I have almost 700 miles on it, mostly from my commute to and from work which is slighty over 6 miles one way. I have had no mechanical issues whatsoever. All I have done is oil the chain, had one flat tire, rotated the tires and adjusted the brake pad contact. The shifting is a bit slower that when I first purchased it but that is due to the cable stretching from the amount of use.
This model has 700cc sized wheels so you roll smooth and fast. The Maxxis tires roll smooth, grip well in the corners and on wet pavement. The wheels have disc brakes hubs and the frame/fork has disc brake tabs so you can upgrade to disc brakes (which I plan to do in the near future) but the rim brakes give you plenty of stopping power for the city streets.
The frame and fork are light, solid and stiff (made of aluminum). The ride on city streets and less-than-smooth pavement is a bit rough but that is a characteristic of aluminum. Roadies would appreciate the quick acceleration from the stiff frame but a casual cyclist or weekender may not like the stutter they feel from the bike. You have the option of running lower pressure in the tires (slower rolling speed, higher possibility of flats), getting fatter tires which hold more air (slower rolling speed) or purchasing a Bad Boy Ultra that has front suspension and a suspension seatpost (more $$$, smaller wheels (26") which cover less ground than the 700cc on the Bad Boy and Bad Boy Disc).
I have an XL and it fits me well (I'm 6'2"). It has comfortable, large cushy grips but if you are not properly positioned, you can start to feel a numbness in your hands. I remedied this by modifying my seating position and using roadie fingerless gloves which are a bit more padded than my mountain bike gloves. The upright, straight handlebar position would probably be favored by those who have lower back problems or who don't feel very confident with roadbike type handlebars in city traffic. Most mountain bikers looking for an alternative bike that doesn't stray far from what they are used to in a mountain bike would like the Bad Boy.
Now for the cons.
These comments are really based more on preference rather than quality of the bike so take these with a grain of salt.
This bike is an 8 speed. I would prefer a 9 speed setup. On the flats and going downhill, it could use that extra gear to get just a little more speed. I've gotten up to 37.5 mph on a downhill stretch and could probably go faster if I had the additional gear.
The Bad Boy only comes in a matte black finish. I like the stealthy, sleek look but it makes you less visible at night (which is when I do my return commute from the job). I know that Cannondale does this to save money on producing various color but a white or silver option would be more suitable for a bike which is categorized as Urban/Commuter. The good thing about this model is that the logos and 'Cannondale' decals are highly reflective. Just invest in lights and reflective clothing if you travel during dark hours.
The seat is average. It's ok for a quick jaunt down the road but not very comfortable for long distances. If you ride often and have purchased a few bikes, you know the seat is where most bike companies tend to skimp on. Plan on upgrading the seat if you ride long distances.

Comments about Cannondale Bad Boy Bike:
I can ride this bike confidently because it gives me alot of control. The straight bars and upright riding posture are great for commuting and avoiding unpredictable drivers. The 26" wheels are also great for a quick start from stop. The look is great too. I seem to have to re-position the v-brakes everytime I take the front wheel off, but maybe that's normal for v-brakes. I'm used to the power of disc-brakes on my mt. bikes. I think the Bad Boy Ultra has disc-brakes, which seems like a good option, especially with the unpredictable nature of traffic during commuting. I love this bike though. Wouldn't mind a lighter bike, but I can see myself riding this bike for a long time.
