Its a basic hat

Comments about REI Sahara Cape Hat:

This... is a basic sun hat. It does OK, but not great. I bought it to provide a bit of extra shade when riding. The rear cover doesn't fully cover your neck if wearing just a t-shirt. But, any of the longer capes in the back would flap around too much when riding, so its a compromise.

I also realize that its about sun protection, but some bit of mesh on top would be nice. Its not necessarily a cool hat to wear when its hot out.

But overall, it does OK for me. Keeps a bit more sun off my neck, and definitely off my ears, and works well on the bike.
