Comments about Colorado 14ers - 2nd Edition:

The author is very thorough and has an enjoyeable writing style, however some of the basic maps in the book are not complete. In purchasing this book I hoped to find a "one-source" guide for all of Colorado's 55 or so fourteeners. It would be wise to procure maps more detailed than what are in the book. Also, many conditions have changed, and the second edition does not completely keep up. For example, to access the Grays Peak Trailhead, nothing less than a full-sized 4WD SUV with 14" of ground clearance is acceptable. For God's sake, don't fly into DIA and rent a Ford Focus [...]... you'll add 12 miles to your hike!

Comments about Colorado 14ers - 2nd Edition:

Does not provide as much information as other similar guide books. The book is too simplistic in outlining the routes to the summits. It is tiny, lightweight enough to stuff in your backpack.
