Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
The tall Ultra Lamina +15 bag is extremely lightweight and fits in a really small space. So small I can fit my tent (minus the poles) inside of the sleeping bag compartment of my backpack. I'm 6'5" tall, 210 lbs, wide shoulders, and this bag fits great. I've used it in weather down to 20 degrees F and I stayed warm all night. Have not used it in really cold weather but would not hesitate to use in in the Rocky's during a snow storm as long as I was in a tent. This is a durable sleeping bag, and the zippers are great... it only unzips down to you waist to save weight, and you can keep it full zipped around your head and unzip the zippers from the waist up to make arm holes and cook or read while staying toasty warm.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
I've been backpacking with this bag for a couple years now, and am impressed with it so far. The first night I tested it was on the southern AT (GA-NC) with patchy snow on the ground and nighttime temps of 10-15*F. I'm a pretty warm sleeper, but in an REI quarterdome tent on a Big Agnes aircore pad with two pairs of socks, thermal underwear, sweater, and balaclava I was pretty darn cold. But at such extremes of the intended use, I slept. I slept as the water in my Nalgene half-froze while resting against my sleeping pad. Thumbs up!For a synthetic bag, the ultralamina has impressive compressibility, approaching that of a down bag. And it does dry like a champ. Several times, I've slept under the stars in just barely above freezing temperatures. The dew inevitably settles on the bag, but just a few minutes in the sun, and it's dry and ready to pack. Also, the interior of the bag is black and will therefore make optimal use of the sun's energy for drying, not to mention hide dirt well. The bag is luxuriously soft. The fill fluffs up after compression quickly. There are no stitched-through seams which is great for heat retention and durability. There is a stiffening weld surrounding the zippers and has been great so far at preventing zipper snags (which can change from a minor annoyance to a desperate situation waking up in the middle of the night with a stuck zipper and an urgent need to pee, thanks to a bit too much sake around the fire). The only thing that has been a mild annoyance with this bag is the hood closure. There is a braided nylon cord that cinches and holds the top half well enough, but the bottom half is cinched with an elastic cord pulled through a donut that, on cold nights when I cinch the face hole to as small as possible, I frequently wake up to drafts because the elastic cord has slipped back through the donut and requires retightening. For the money, this is an outstanding sleeping bag! [...]

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
I just got done using this bag on a backpacking trip. It really is a great bag. It compresses down nice and small to save space. Temperatures got down into the high 30's at night, but I stayed very warm all night. Overnight some condensation in the tent caused the bag to get wet, but the bag stayed warm regardless. I really can't think of any negatives about it. Compressibility, warmth, and the ability to withstand the elements are about you can ask for in sleeping bag.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
This has been a great purchase for me. i have used it in many different conditions, from warm summer nights to well below freezing high in the mountains of Colorado. It stays warm and dry. I fit into a regular, but I got the long to give myself extra space at the bottom of my bag to stuff clothes for extra storage space to keep them warm as well as my feet (because I ran into that problem with other bags in the past), but even without the bottom stuffed with my gear, i stay plenty warm.
The bag also packs really tight and is super lightweight in my pack. It opens well and stays well distributed, and decompresses well. I am very happy and know you will be too.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
After reading all the reviews, I purchased a long version. Was at 10k under a porch and woke up to some rain with temps around 28-F. The bag's foot area had some rain on it and it never soaked in. After a few strokes, water was gone and dry. Another night without sleeping in tent and winds - bag kept me toasty. Neat side pocket to store glasses / headlamp. Bag compresses really nice and small. Material and construction are high MHW quality. Awesome bag for damp conditions and very warm and roomy for my 5-10 210 frame.
