      I have had these sandals for a few years now. I hate wearing shoes. I wear them every day but do need a new pair as the bottom sole is separating from the sandal but that is due to wear and tear. I grew up near the beach and spent a lot of time there and I always wore sandals. These are the most comfortable and versatile pair I have ever found. There may be better alternatives but I stopped looking. These won't give you the chalky feeling between the bottom of your foot and sandal when walking in sand. Now that I live in the desert, they are great for taking along on hikes when at camp and great for the river and lakes. These are my everyday shoes besides when I am at work.

        The only negative comment that I have about this year's model of this sandal is that the new "Microban" soles attract dirt. Even though the rubber is black, they always look dirty. Previous years' models (prior to Microban) didn't have this problem. Otherwise, they are a great sandal. Elixir's are the only sandals that I have warn for the last 7 years!

          Bought these a week ago and wasn't sure how I'd like them. At first they rubbed on my foot a little bit, but wore them a little longer and is no longer an issue. I am a little worried about the durability bc they are so soft and comfy, but only time will tell how long they last (reason I didn't give 5 starts). Before I bought these I bought Chacos and had to return them because they were not comfortable (straps rubbed on feet)... these seem much better (and cheaper).
