Comments about REI Pinnacle Pack - Women's:
I've had this pack for seven months. I used it every weekend for snowshoe trips, and I now use it almost daily for evening and weekend dayhikes in rain, snow, hail, wind, and sun. I even took it snow camping one weekend and while I was able to creatively strap the sleeping pad, sleeping bag, snow shovel, and tent onto the pack, I wouldn't recommend it. It still looks new after all this activity.
I am 5'5" with a slender frame and the Medium fits me very well. I can fit my 10 essentials plus tons of extra food into this pack with no problem. It's just big enough for me to not stuff anything extra into it. My guess is that I carry about 10-15 lbs on average in it for hiking, more for snowshoeing. It's not the lightest pack on the market, but I have no complaints about the weight.
I like that the straps are well located for a woman's body, and that everything is highly adjustable. There is no shortage of straps on this pack. I like the side entry, but would have preferred a front entry since I generally make a mess of things from the side. The little pocket on the waist strap is too small to carry anything larger than batteries or lip balm - I wish the opening was bigger. The double daisy chains are invaluable, and I strap my snowshoes on with no problem. I do often end up with a sweaty back after tough hikes though, as there is no air pocket between my back and the pack.
If I could improve this pack, I'd add tool loops as there currently is nowhere to stow an ice axe (though I have done it with creative difficulty) and exterior mesh pockets as another reviewer suggested. I was also partial to the yellow accent on the mens version but that is more of a triviality.
The pack is versatile, comfortable, and somewhat stylish. I found it excellent for the price I paid.

Comments about REI Pinnacle Pack - Women's:
I've had this pack for about a year, and have used it for several 1-3 night backcountry trips. I find it to be very comfortable for me (bearing in mind that pack fit is an individual thing, and that it's best to try packs on yourself).
It has done well in the rain, with heavy loads, with light loads, with all manner of stuff strapped to the outside... It's lightweight, easily holds the essentials for a few nights, and has that wonderful front zipper. You also can't beat the price.

Comments about REI Pinnacle Pack - Women's:
I am 5 ft tall and 115 lbs and most packs I have tried were unbearably uncomfortable in minutes, even with only 20 lbs! Even at the smallest settings, most packs don't fit. This one fits my frame perfectly, allowing me to carry 20ish pounds with ease. I'm a lightweight backpacker/hiker, so I don't carry too many "extras" but this pack is exactly what I need. The only thing I would change on this pack is I'd add mesh pockets on the sides to hold extra water bottles (you can fit two 2L hydration bladders inside, though) but the pack was designed to hold skis and has straps where pockets would be. Straps are handy, too, though. Other than that, it is amazing and I urge smaller framed women to load this pack up at the store and trek around with it for awhile. You'll be amazed at what you can do. :O)
