      These shorts have become my everyday live-in, work-in, play-in shorts. Durable, with a handy zippered pocket, these shorts handle hot mid-Atlantic summers and cool Alaskan glacier hikes with equal aplomb. The hidden message printed inside the shorts rings true: "Wash me in a river and drag me dry." After I bought a pair, I went back and got two more.

      I bought the first pair, khaki, at the REI store in Nashville. I liked everything but the too-generous waist that keeps me from wearing these without a belt. Ordered two more pairs. These still feel at least a half inch big in the waist after several washings, but not as voluminous as the khaki. I miss the lack of a navy or dark blue. The only colors are essentially varying shades of brown/green. Better than the REI Trailbuilder shorts in that the cell pocket is not out of reach when standing. I bought the shorter of the two lengths. Happy with the length. The kids don't tease me that they are too short, but they are not at my knees, either.

          these have everything. Reasonable price, almost excessively stitched seams, a sturdy SNAP instead of a dumb button to come loose. The fabric is amazingly soft and comfortable and the crotch is gusseted. Why aren't ALL crotches gusseted? So much nicer, esp. for riding.

            These shorts rock. I bought one pair and wear them all the time so I ordered another pair. They are super comfortable. I bike to work and they are great for wearing padded shorts underneath. I see there are pants as well. Might have to try those bad boys out come fall.
