      He won't shut up about: how they don't pull, how comfortable they are, how he can lift his legs without any problem, how great all the pockets are, how easy they are to get on and off (no front zipper!), how airy they are, he's already had me order three more pairs off the REI website!!!!!

        I WAS BUMMED WHEN THE LUCKY ISLAND CARGO SHORTS WERE DISCONTINUED BUT EXCITED WHEN I RECEIVED THESE AS THEY ARE EVEN HIGHER QUALITY AND BETTER CONSTRUCTION.

              My favorite hiking shorts are lightweight, quick drying vintage REIs of a shorter, 3 1/2" inseam, length regular pockets. I continue to look for something similar, in vain. I am down to the last pair and I hope the longer and longer shorts trend ends soon.

              These shorts are way to long!I wish shorts makers would wake up and make normal length shorts again. Lot of people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s looking for functional shorts.I loved the Columbia Snake River Shorts. Had a normal inseam and lots of pockets! Now everyone it loving making these totally worthless [...] style shorts. They are totally useless for outdoor sports. The pockets are at my KNEES and I cannot hike in them when loaded. I also enjoy sun on my legs but that is out with these.These shorts would be good in the hood, but I am not a gangster or care to look like one!I wish REI and Columbia and all the other short producers would once again start making shorts for outdoor sports(hiking, fishing, river sports).

                I live in these shorts all summer long! The multiple pockets are well designed to accomodate cell phones, small digital cameras, my smokes, my Lady Friends (LF) smokes etc. The inner mesh liner lets the boys breathe, and if a sudden rain shower occurs, they dry quickly. I've owned a pair of these for a year,and just ordered three more pair in other colors.
