Comments about REI Mojave Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
I'm an independent contractor working in Afghanistan. Saving space is a must so before I went overseas I purchased several brands of convertible pants so that I didn't have to purchase pants for work and shorts for chilling. I bought Nike ACG, North Face, and these in olive.
The Nikes were wasted inside of 3 wear cycles, North Face weren't much better. I'm on here now ordering a few more pairs of these.
The construction of these pants is top notch with bar-tacking reinforcements everywhere. The leg zippers are solid (the Nike ACG's blew out and no longer zip on). The double layered and articulated knee and lower zip to remove the legs without removing foot gear are pretty slick bonus features. The fabric is tough enough to endure desert conditions without being too hot or heavy (I disagree with some reviewers). They are a bit baggy but I appreciate the extra room while operating in hot climates - makes taking a knee very easy without over stressing the leg zippers. The waist seems to run a little small so consider moving up a size.
These are awesome operating pants for anyone considering them for overseas duty.

[...] Love these for travel and recommend them highly. After spending the last couple of months on crutches and wearing a boot, these were a lifesaver. Now if only you could make some with more color choices for tall people.

Comments about REI Mojave Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
These are nice pants for hikes in colder climates. The cotton/polyester fabric feels nice on your skin and is a bit heavier than the fabric found in plain nylon hiking pants. You pay for the added convenience with a bit more weight and a longer drying time. My pair was well made and did fit well with boots, but seemed a bit too long for a 34in inseam when going barefoot or wearing sandals. The tan color blends well with trail dirt and you look halfway clean even after a two-week hike. The pants have quite a few pockets, though none of them is large enough to hold a map without folding it in half. In addition, I would prefer hook-and-loop closures over the button closures.

Comments about REI Mojave Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
M.C. Hammer would be proud -- these pants are super-baggy and long! I'm 6'2"+, and these were dragging on the ground. All the extra material == heavy pants. The waste was a true 34". They feel durable, but they're going back to the store. I couldn't hike in these.

Comments about REI Mojave Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
Don't get me wrong I would probably recommend these to a friend if they had thicker legs than me. I am a tall skinny guy and these pants seem too roomy in the legs. The inseam and waist are perfect, but way too much room through the leg. I am not much for baggy pants. I may return them. I have a pair of older Sahara Convertible Pants and they don't seem as roomy. I was hoping to get these for the cotton/nylon blend...oh well.

Comments about REI Mojave Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
I got these, with their zip-off legs, for hiking at that time of year when you're not sure if it will be hot or cool BUT they're cut so fantastically well I refuse to use them for that and wear them when going out! Maybe they fit me differently cuz I'm 6'5" (almost 2 meters) but the slash pocket with the tilted seam coupled with the loose fit in the legs combine to make them not only REALLY comfortable, even when sitting, they also look great too. Unfortunately the olive color I got previously is no longer available.

These are comfortable and wear well. The waist size was smaller than other REI pants I've pruchased.

I like the cotton, it is heavier but more durable than the nylon. They are a little longer than other 34" pants but sewn so that they can be easily hemmed.

Comments about REI Mojave Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
These pants are really nice. They were the only pants I could find at the time that had a 34" inseam at REI. I went tree climbing with them one day, and they held up really nicely. I also wear them to my school, which ISN'T air conditioned, on a 80 degree day. Needless to say I didn't over heat. Great Pair of Pants!

Comments about REI Mojave Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
At last, REI catches up with everybody else and offers convertible pants with a longer inseam for the shorts part. No more "Daisy Duke" effect when you zip off the legs. Cotton/nylon blend is sweeter than nylon only, and, personally, I like the traditional buttons on the pockets. (Ever had exposed Velcro unravel a high-tech fabric running shirt in the drier?) Other nice touches include articulated knees and side zips at the leg bottoms.
