Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
I have a drawer FULL of gloves from REI. I like to have the right glove for the right task. Since I bike to work throughout the Norwegian winter and summer I needed something that could handle the cold snowy days as well as the wet cool summer days. These are hands down my preferred pair because they fit well (not too snug so heat circulates), they're warm (comfortable fleece lining), water resistant (good enough for me when I'm exercising outdoors) and give me full dexterity when clipping my daughter into the child seat on the back of the bike. Although they are starting to show some wear after 6 months of use, I'm guessing they'll last a couple of years. When it gets really cold out (-15C+ ) I pull out my "heavy weight" biking glove - the Pearl Izumi Pro Barrier Lobster Gloves. I've never had cold fingers with these gloves ...even after taking them dog sledding less than a hour's flight from the North Pole! (I used the Seirus Lite gloves when we stopped to take pictures.) P.S. Stay away from the "all weather" Seirus gloves. They are on the bottom of my glove drawer for a reason...not warm, not water proof, little dexterity, feels like a wet suit for your fingers.

Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
I bought a pair of the light weights by seirus for my motorcycle - worked great but I sold the motorcycle. I rediscovered these gloves when I started cycling to work in cold weather high 20's to mid 60's. I own a seirus light weight and this pair specificaly and depending on the temperature I wear them alone or with a pearl izumi glove shell. Best warmest comination I've found! I hate the cold too.

Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
These are some quality, stylish, lightweight gloves that provide sufficient dexterity to operate a camera, but I did not find them to be especially warm or water resistant. When hiking, I found that I needed an additional liner or heavier glove once it got into the 30s or below. The claimed water resistance was not very robust -- my hands started to get damp simply when wet snowflakes started to fall.

Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
I initially purchased these gloves as a liner to wear inside my mittens for extremely cold environments (so when I took my hands out to read a map my hands would work for more than 20 seconds). They turned out to be slightly too bulky for that task, but usable. However, these gloves soon became my go-to gloves for just about everything and were especially useful in highly aerobic activities in extreme cold weather.
They breathe very well and are completely windproof. They allow a high degree of dexterity and the grip is decent so they are more than acceptable for most tasks, including managing maps in high-wind environments.
If you keep your core warm these gloves will keep your hands warm as long as they are dry.
These are water resistant but not waterproof, and they will become water-logged in wet environments. The only time my hands were ever cold in these was a warm spring-ski day in the slush.
Well, I'm on here to get another pair because I wore the last pair out. That will tend to happen after two seasons of daily use. Because I had initially intended these to be liners I cut the material on the palm off right away. After time my ski-edges began to exploit this weakness and wore a hole into where the thread had been.
Hope that helps

Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
I use these gloves for biking in temperatures below 40 degrees F. I have tried dozens of different pairs of gloves that have never, ever kept my hands warm. Then I purchased said product, and wow, my hands do not get too cold, even on long road rides with the wind beating into your hands. I highly recommend them!

Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
I wanted a pair of softshell gloves that I could wear when the conditions didn't require a heavier pair of big mitts. When I got these home, I noticed the thumb was too long. I can't squeeze into the smaller pair so I guess I am going to have to look at another brand. Oh well... That's how it goes sometimes.
I would recommend these to a friend if they fit the friends hands.

Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
Bought these as replacement cool/cold weather gloves for my walking commute. First, the pluses - lightweight, modern-looking gloves that fit my hands well. The palm/thumb/finger grips add useful traction for manipulating leashes, keys, objects. Not as much finger dexterity as the Hyperlites (which I tried in the store but didn't buy) but still enough to operate an SLR, ride a bike and use as driving gloves when the car is freezing cold.
Main con is that, probably due to the lightweight construction, they don't offer great finger insulation against cold (thirties or cooler) weather. They're good for about 10-15 minutes of walking before my fingers really start to feel the chill. Might work better if they're pre-warmed, and they are fine in cool weather. Haven't had the chance to test their rain shedding potential, but I anticipate that they'll be fine for light precipitation but not prolonged heavy showers or combing through snow.

Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
I don't remember why I got them...but I ended up using them constantly. Perfect for everything from walking the dog in cold to freezing weather, to carrying your gear to the slopes when you want a little more dexterity than your ski mitts/gloves provide. Cold hiking, the first few cold moments in the car, snowshoeing, you name it. They're comfortable and reliable.
I've used mine hard for three years now...and somehow burned some of the outside layer off on one of the fingers, so I am getting another pair before they decide to change them in any way!
They are not completely waterproof...they can get damp in extended exposure to snow, water, etc. but they dry quickly. The extended wrist band fits perfectly under all of my softshells/fleeces.

Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
Fit true to size. They're comfortable for running. I drive with them occasionally but I wouldn't recommend it. For all practical purposes it's like a softshell jacket for your hands. I owned 2 pairs of softshell gloves prior to this pair. This pair beats both hands down.

Comments about Seirus Softshell Lite Gloves:
Most comfortable pair of gloves I've ever owned. These are my everyday Minnesota winter gloves. They stand up to the freezing temperatures but allow my hands to breath indoors. Plus, I can keep them on to use my camera or take out my keys with full dexterity.
