During our last 70 mile backpacking trip we had a number of snack items. The granola bars eventually start tasting like cardboard. The Gummy Bears became, by far, the favorite snack. It is a welcome relief to nibble on these bruins while on a dusty steep trail.

Interesting Note: The direct translation of this product from the German is Rubber Bears.

Note 2: The non-Haribo knock-offs that are very common in grocery stores, etc. are a far inferior version to the original Haribo.

I grew up in Germany & Europe eating gummies. I've eaten 100s of styles & brands. I would call myself a gummi connoisseur. Haribo is the best brand for gummies & pretty much every candy they make is fantastic. I prefer to let mine sit open to "age" for a couple weeks. However you eat them, the good ol' gold bag can't be beat.
