Comments about Keen Targhee II eVent Low Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Comfortable shoe that can be worn for extended backpacking or around the house. The sole on first pair delaminated from the upper. The tread on the second pair separated from the sole (I ran into an individual at the airport yesterday that experienced this same issue). Both incidents resulted in replacements. Had this not been the case, this shoe would fail in several important categories including "value" and "versatility" and would have been relegated to casual wear only. Other reviews experienced the same product defects and I am hopeful that Keen will address these issues.

Comments about Keen Targhee II eVent Low Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Owned about 6 keen shoes now, this one runs about a half-size smaller than the rest. Like most keen's, incredibly comfortable out of the box and casual enough to wear everywhere with jeans. Took this one on a few light hikes and some geocaching outings, sole was sturdy enough to tramp over roots and branches. Shoe feels bomb-proof, good for pretty much any activity in any weather and the stability thing really works. However, it is lightly insulated, a plus in snowy winters and a minus in the summer. Another minus is the outer sole which started to peel off after a few months. Sad to see this one go, it was one of my favorite shoes.

Comments about Keen Targhee II eVent Low Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I've been looking for a shoe like this for a while. Upon researching the other comments, I visited my local REI before ordering this shoe online. I tried it on using my normal running shoe size (10.5 4E) and found that it fit a bit tight, so I ordered the next half size up. The result: a great fitting shoe... great in the forefoot and not too wide in the toebox (well, at least for me...). I have used it on short walks and day hikes; I intend to also use this shoe for a 70 mile backpacking trip this summer. I'm hoping the sole issue won't be an issue, but for now I'm very happy with this product. If you're looking for a rugged, good looking, waterproof, lite backpacking/hiking shoe for wide feet, this might be your model. Good luck in your search and travels.

Comments about Keen Targhee II eVent Low Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I bought these shoes to be my weekend warriors. I loved the fit from day one, and little by little I began to wear them to work. I work in an industrial setting... I walk (literally) miles on concrete floors some days, or I could be out in the field in mud or snow. Now these are my "every day" shoes. The only shoes that have ever lasted me more than a year were [$] Ecco boots. These Keenes are more comfortable than the Ecco's and have actaully held up better. I'm on 13 months of wearing these to work every day, and pretty much every weekend in foul weather. No doubt I'll be buying another pair when these wear out...just not sure when that will happen.

Best walking shoe I've had in 50 years. Got my first pair for walking my dog on wet days. Found myself wearing them on dry days, too. And in low snow, around town, camping--basically, everywhere except to bed. A thousand miles later I'm ordering a replacement pair. Buy 'em.

Great durable shoe. I have had these for a year and they look almost brand new. I have put about 200 hiking mile on them and they still feel great.

This shoe is durable. I've got a wide foot and it's hard to find shoes that won't bust out the sides over time. These are a perfect fit and provide comfort anywhere i go. I've had another pair of Keen's for 4 years now and expect this pair to last just as long.

Comments about Keen Targhee II eVent Low Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
In the showroom and around the house the Targhees felt wonderful. But then... the tongue on the right shoe developed a personality of it's own. It would not lay flat and all of the extra fabric looked to bury itself into the top of my foot. Not good. I am on my feet (retail store manager) all day and I could not stand it. REI was wonderful to allow me to return them. I would recommend with reservations. Keen Voyager was my replacement.
