        Comments about REI Triangular Bandage:

If you are buying this product, you have probably taken one or more first aid courses. I have taken several from the Red Cross and, recently, the REI Outdoor School Wilderness First Aid course through the Wilderness Medicine Institute and NOLS.

While I highly recommend the REI/WFA/WMI course, I cannot recommend these bandages.

In all of the first aid courses I have taken, you use triangle bandages in large numbers. You know what they are: they are all a breathable, tough, gauze-like material. Not these. These are made of Tyvec. You know, like overnight envelopes.

Now, Tyvec is great for a lot of things, but not for this. They are not flexible enough, nor breathable enough, and I cannot recommend them. I have no idea what I will use these for besides practice.

In future, I'll buy more from WMI. They are cheaper there to boot. But, really, sign up for the REI Outdoor School Wilderness First Aid course: it's fantastic.
