Based on the much-lauded Tikka XP, the Petzl Tactikka XP Adapt LED headlamp goes a couple better, with filters for nighttime visibility and new mounting options!

  • Red, green and blue filters aid your ability to see in the dark without experiencing night blindness caused by rush of bright light against the eye
  • Cover mechanism lets you slide the filter of your choice over the powerful LED as needed; filters easily swap out in moments
  • Plus, for added versatility, the lamp can be removed from its headstrap and mounted to clip for attaching to a belt, cap brim or pack strap
  • Set also comes with a second, self-adhesive clip for attaching lamp to firm, smooth surfaces, such as the front of a climbing helmet
  • LED outputs 40 lumens and throws light up to 35m on high and 18m on low
  • Super-powerful Boost mode throws light up to 50m when you need extra visibility; Boost mode stays active for a maximum of 20 sec. to prevent overheating of the LED circuitry
  • Push-button switch easily changes between 3 brightness settings and a strobe mode so you can choose the appropriate light level for the task at hand
  • Slide-away diffuser lens cover changes beam shape from spot light to area light for different conditions
  • Powered by 3 AAA batteries, headlamp can provide up to 120 hrs. of light on low setting and 60 hrs. on high
  • 3-color battery-charge indicator provides visual status of remaining battery life, eliminating guesswork
  • Adjustable elastic band comfortably fits a variety of head sizes; tilting ratchet head adjusts light where you need it without crooking your neck
  • Petzl Tactikka XP Adapt LED headlamp is designed with IPX4 water resistance for reliability in inclement weather

Petzl warns against the use of lithium batteries with this headlamp as doing so might cause the lamp to overheat and damage the LED bulbs.

Petzl Tactikka XP Adapt LED Headlampis rated5.0out of5by2.
Rated5out of5byfromReliable, functionalNot the lightest headlamp around, but it is one of the most versatile and reliable headlamps I have ever used. The interchangeable filters add utility for LE/military and hunting applications. The fact that the angle of the lamp unit can be vertically adjusted is quite helpful in not blinding one's comrades. Sufficiently bright for any nighttime activities, including hiking, backpacking, and climbing. Ability to mount on other equipment, including a climbing or ballistic helmet, is a plus. No IR option though. My ultralight headlamp for backpacking it a Petzl e+Lite, but it does not throw much light. The Tactikka is much brighter. I now carry both (the e+Lite is my backup). I'm on my second Tactikka (lost the first one), so that's my vote of confidence in this product.

Rated5out of5byfromAverage Petzl headlampI have had this headlamp for 4 years now and its been to Iraq and Afghanistan. i have never had one issue with it and its always been no more than an arms length away. I still have it to this day and I still use it at least once a week. I have never changed had to buy anything but batteries. I will def buy again if I lose this one or it breaks.
