        This bike rack is easy to install and use. I would like to see the plastic straps that slip into the tail gate replaced with something more durable and strong. These would be easy to cut if someone wanted to take your rack. To prevent this I secure it to my truck bed using a cable and lock.

        This rack installs in a minute (seriously). Great design, easy to use. Holds bike securely. I love the fact that I'm done removing front wheels!!! My bike is safe in the bed of the truck rather than risk the chance of damage from a rear end collision (as with hitch racks).

        The ratcheting mechanism that tighten the two tailgate straps to the rack are each fastened to the rack with a single rivet. The rivet on one strap failed upon installing the rack on my first return trip. Luckily this did not fail in transit for me. It would have been disastrous to have my bike flung out of the truckbed into the path of oncoming traffic or a pedestrian, or some one riding along the road on a bicycle.

        This product could be modified to replace the rivet with a through-bolt -- but I decided to return the product since I do not wish others to see me using it and therefore thinking the product in its stock configuration is safe.
