Comments about SRAM MRX Comp Set Twist Shifter - 7 Speed:

First off, you either love or hate twist-shifters. If you hate them, these won't convert you.

I have the 8-spd version of these and they work very well. Shifting is clean and precise. They're lightweight but they still take abuse pretty well (even though they sort of feel flimsy, I've had them for two seasons with no problems). If you've got an old 7- or 8-spd MTB (or you're a retrogrouch like me who prefers the strength of 8-spd chains), they're a worthwhile investment if you're looking for new shifters.

A final warning: the mounting bolt for these will mar up nicer handlebars and shouldn't be used with carbon fiber or ultra thing aluminum bars. I got around this by not using their mounting system and zip-tying them to my brake levers. Two years later they're still firmly mounted in the same place, so it works.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
