Comments about Owens River Gorge Climbs - 10th Edition:
Great book. It's concise, easy to read and very thorough. It has good photos and topos. There is a mix between hand drawn topos and actual photo topos with the majority being hand drawn. The few photo topos there are do not show the location of the bolts which would have been nice. Hand drawn topos do show them. I would have also liked to see color pictures like some of the newer guidebooks out there.
All in all a great asset to have when going out to the Gorge.

Comments about Owens River Gorge Climbs - 10th Edition:
I kind of hate the Owens River Gorge (big hole in the ground, with ugly electrical industry ruins rotting everywhere) - especially considering there is so much truly excellent climbing quite nearby, in much more aesthetic settings. (see the Mammoth Area guide, same author, same publisher, same excellent quality guidebook)
Still, the ORG is certainly convenient to Bishop, there are a zillion sport climbs in a very small, easily accessed area, and this guidebook is very thorough and easy to use. (LOVE the ratings+stars index this publisher always includes!) So I have to give the book a healthy four stars, even if I'd give the Gorge only two stars as a crag. (these days, 5-star guidebooks include color-photo-topos, like the new Red Rock Canyon Las Vegas guide!)
