Comments about Crank Brothers Candy SL Pedals:
These were the first pedals I used when I moved into using clipless and I will never use another brand. Two sided entry is essential. The small platform is perfect. I rarely if ever fear I won't be able to clip out in a nanosecond if I need to. Mud doesn't get stuck in them, and I use them in all conditions. Plus, you can order them in a whole lot of different colours and styles. I have them on all my bikes and won't ever cycle without them!

Comments about Crank Brothers Candy SL Pedals:
These are great pedals. I had Shimano pedals before on my mountain bike, and they were ok, but would get caked with mud and dirt very easily. I upgraded to these, and I have never regretted it. They've performed incredibly well for a year so far, and are still going strong. Although you can't adjust the tension of the pedal, I think that the amount of tension that your foot is kept in the pedal is perfect. I can clip out of these in a split second when I need to, but I almost NEVER accidently clip out of them (a few times i have when they hit a rock). They are also very easy to clip back in, and they shed mud beautifully.

Comments about Crank Brothers Candy SL Pedals:
These are great clipless pedals. They are lightweight yet substantial enough to handle a hard ride. They shed mud unlike any pedal I've purchased in the past. If you are looking to upgrade, these are the pedals to purchase

Comments about Crank Brothers Candy SL Pedals:
Once I got the cleats attached to my outdated cycling shoes, thanks to the staff at my local REI, I was able to finally clip into these pedals. These pedals are a major departure for me and it is taking some time to get used to them.
Off road riding with these is still an act of faith for me. I rode a bear trap style pedal for a long time, so that is what I am used to. So far, the Egg Beaters release on time, every time, but I am still nervous about them. The good news is they do hold you securely in the pedal and you can feel the difference in control and power over a platform or bear trap style pedal. No matter what the condition, you can't slip off the pedal.
On the road, these pedals are terrific. My old road bike has retro style toe clips, so being locked in on the road is nothing new for me. These hold much more securely than my old style did, but I still have to think about clipping in with the Egg Beater system. The release system does allow for minor toe-in toe-out movement while riding, so it is not a totally rigid system.
Overall, this is money well spent. These pedals seem every bit as solid as the ones on my original mountain bike and are a huge improvement over the WTB pedals these are replacing.

I am new to clipless, and decided to give it a try with my mountain bike. I was a little concerned that I might not like the connected feel, and that entry/exit might be a bit too precarious. Not so. So easy to get in/out, with a very short learning curve. I am so enjoying the extra power that comes with being connected! I have no complaints. Money well spent.

USED ON MY K2 MAINFRAME 5.0 ROAD BIKE
This product has been great! It is recommended that one tests the product out before taking it out on the road. I opted not to and found it real easy to clip in. In addition, this was my first time using clipless pedals. I would only recommend this, not testing them out, to individuals that have good balance and a strong feel for their bike.
This product has shaved off over eleven minutes to my 16 mile ride and has left me still hungry for a longer ride. I get the most power when traveling up hill and am two/three cogs higher than normal on the flats.
I do the most of my riding at night so i like having the platform to get an idea where the pedal is and for my longer rides.
The REI representative was awesome and helped me install the pedals under 5 minutes and helped with the placement of the crank bros. cleats on my spd shoe.
