The Sigma® BC 1606L computer serves the needs of the most demanding riders, especially those who ride at night--and it's wireless!

  • Backlight offers optimal readability even after nightfall
  • The digital radio speed sensor works without the need of a wire running between computer and fork--a great look for a lean, mean speed machine
  • An integrated storage chip prevents the loss of settings and total values during a battery change; low-battery indicator alerts you to make the change
  • Total values for time and distance are hidden while you ride, allowing you to focus more easily on functions necessary to the ride
  • Provides a programmable trip section counter and countdown timer
  • Plus, with Cadence and Bike 2 Sensor accessories (sold separately), you can monitor rpms and track total time and distance for a second bike
  • The BC 1606L also tracks the total accumulated distances of bikes one and two added together

Comments about Sigma Sport BC 1606L DTS Wireless Bike Computer:

Great product. Works well. Large display is easy to read while riding and the buttons are large enough to allow easy use at road speeds. The only problem I had with the product is with the magnet that attaches to the spokes. The plastic casing around the magnet is not very strong and got stressed while screwed to the spoke and eventually snapped. I replaced it with the all metal disk version.

Comments about Sigma Sport BC 1606L DTS Wireless Bike Computer:

The Sigma BC 1606L DTS (wireless) is a good quality product. It has a large display that is easy to read. However the viewing angle must be adjusted properly in order to see what is displayed (as with most LCDs). A nice feature is that you can remove the computer from your handle bar. I originally bought this computer versus others because it had a stopwatch function; however I've only been able to get it to work while plugged into the bike, so its useless as a standalone stop watch. But no biggie, its still a very good cyclocomputer.
The only problems I have had is that cycling through different functions can be time consuming and distracting; and also some functions (bike odo) only displays when the bike is not moving. Also, if you forget to press a button before riding the computer will not activate.

Comments about Sigma Sport BC 1606L DTS Wireless Bike Computer:

I found that the positioning of this computer unit is critical to picking up the signal from the sending unit mounted on the fork. There is a piece of black doublestick tape that holds the computer mount firmly on the handlebar. I recommend that you first mount the computer WITHOUT the doublestick tape. By doing this you can find the best position for mounting the computer unit. After you figure out where it picks up the best signal, permanently remount the unit using the doublestick tape.

Be aware that objects between the sending unit and the computer will interfere with the signal and prevent proper pairing. I had my coil bike lock mounted between these units and it prevented proper operation. As soon as I moved the bike lock and reset the computer on the handlebar, all works fine.

      Radio signal interference

Comments about Sigma Sport BC 1606L DTS Wireless Bike Computer:

Pluses: small size, easy to read large numbers, ease of installation, can be configured for two bikes, display back light on demandMinuses: readouts for mph, distance and time would not display continuously. For example, mph would read "0.00" mph for several seconds to a minute. Distance and time would not update continuously. According to Sigma customer service this is due to interference caused by radio signals along the course of my commute or training rides. There is no known workaround. I found the interruptions in the displays to be very distracting. There are four buttons around the perimeter of the computer and since the computer is small (a plus in itself) and you have to toggle between screens to view several different lines of information, it's easy to accidentally press the wrong button.Second bike sensor/mount kit can be ordered [...].If you don't find the interruptions distracting then the Sigma's small size and large display may be right for you.

Comments about Sigma Sport BC 1606L DTS Wireless Bike Computer:

First unit failed out of box. Second unit failed within 2 weeks. Now starting with 3rd unit.

Bought this unit when my 25+ year old Catseye failed. Went with this because Catseye wireless + cadence unit is much more expensive. Maybe this is why.

        Service and delivery comments:

REI service excellent. Local store had the diagnostic tool to verify failure; replaced defective units on the spot.
