The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Old Town Camper 16 Canoe with Web Seats:
I conducted a solo through paddle of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail in one of these. I'm a bigger guy at 6'3" 270lbs and needed a canoe large enough to hold me and my gear. This canoe, with some additional outfitting served me well on 740 miles of lakes, rivers, swamps, and portages. It is very stable and I really enjoyed standing up and poling this up rivers.

Comments about Old Town Camper 16 Canoe with Web Seats:
Use my Camper solo, sitting on front seat facing aft, my weight counter balanced by camping gear and dog. Not your bannana shaped white water boat but a darn good all-rounder. I was suprised to see the weight listed as 59 lbs. Mine is 76 lbs. If weight is important to you bring the bathroom scales and check prior to purchase. The center thwart is a killer when portaging. I replaced it with one from Teal Paddles. This is a good honest canoe that will serve you well.

Comments about Old Town Camper 16 Canoe with Web Seats:
My wife and I started paddling in her parents' sea kayaks with our small boys (toddlers at the time), sharing a cockpit with each one. When the boys got too big for that, I looked for one boat in which we could all go together.
We have been in the Camper with the boys on flat rivers, lakes and Puget Sound, often with the boys hanging over one edge or the other "paddling", dragging their hands in the water, or "fishing" with toy nets. This boat is STABLE. I really thought I would miss out on paddling on the Sound, but as long as the wind is down, it is super on the big water. The one drawback to the hull design is that it doesn't have great tracking when the wind is up, but the stability in waves, the light weight and the carrying capacity more than make up for it.
On the carrying capacity, check the specs. You will not find many 16 footers that can carry more. Many of them carry anywhere from 200 to 400 lbs less.
After lugging around the kids and the gear, it was a great surprise to take it out solo and paddle backwards from the bow seat. I covered a surprising amount of distance at surprising speed - all the while staying dry an having some room to move around (unlike the old kayaks). Not only is this my current boat, it is my next boat.

Comments about Old Town Camper 16 Canoe with Web Seats:
This is a very nice canoe. Just at the weight limit for one person to heft it from the roof rack down to the shore.
A very stable tandem canoe.
Nice wide beam at center. I have not camped with this canoe - but am considering doing so.
Was out on the lake the other day with 35 knots off the nose. Yeah - a challenge. But was easy to get this beauty in line and head back to port.
