Comments about Injinji Tetratsok Nuwool Outdoor Crew Toesocks:
Okay, I know they look ridiculous, but I swear, these are the best socks ever. I get sideways looks from everyone I know when they see me wearing these, but I don't care.
The best analogy I have heard is the glove/mitten comparison. Regular socks are like mittens. All you fingers are ganged together in one pocket and help warm each other. With gloves, you fingers each have it's own space to regulate temperature. It's the same with these socks. They just feel more comfortable with the toes separated.
An added benefit to this is that they help prevent blisters because the toes are all separated and don't rub against each other.
I have every model of socks they have and I like the nuwool ones the best for heavy use. The others are fine for everyday, gym, etc.
I wore a pair of these on the 17+ mile hike to Half Dome in shoes that weren't up to the task and I did not get one blister. No moleskin, either. That is a testament to these socks.

Comments about Injinji Tetratsok Nuwool Outdoor Crew Toesocks:
These socks are comfortable but have durability issues. Mine has a hole on a big toe in less than 30 miles of running and normal walking.
I returned them and got full refund.
REI rocks! That is the reason I shop here! Thanks!

This sock has given me a new lease on life. Senior citizen with arthritis. I am now hiking again and without pain in my daily routine. No more bandages for me. My toes are not rubbing together anymore. Thank you!

I really wanted to like these. I bought several pair. They ARE comfortable and the toesock IDEA is a good one both for reducing toes scraping each other and it helps reduce the liner sock sliding back and causing black toenails.BUT, these socks are pricey and they only lasted a couple of hikes for me before I noticed they were threadbare, used as liner socks, in the heel area, front side of toes, and tip of toes. I just can't afford [$] liner socks every couple of hikes. I have since switched to Feelmax Coolmax sports toesocks, which I wish REI carried.

because i want to wear my Japanese kenkoh accupressure flip-flops as much as possible, my winter cold-toes conundrum is finally solved by injinji's extaordinary socks. my supportive shoes with their snug toe sox are an answer to my dreams, and so lovely in lavender too!
during the spring-fall months, i enjoy backpacking, and can hardly wait to get them under my boots for the trail test
havent had them long enuf to know if they're durable, but will certainly find out in the not-too-distant future!

Little skeptical at first but figured I'd give them a go...was in CO and had been a while since I'd strapped the boots on...and I unfortunately can be prone to blisters...needed a liner sock for some cold weather hiking/climbing in the Rockies...went with this over their standard liner for a little extra warmth...after two days and close to 20 miles later on some serious terrain...my feet felt like a million bucks compared to previous treks...I'm now an Injini believer and will be keeping some on hand for hiking and now running...give them a shot...you won't go back

I can't say enough about these socks. They really do prevent blisters by keeping your toes separated. No more taping all of my toes before long hikes or backpacking trips. They take a little getting used to, but they are so comfortable once you do. Because each toe is separated, moisture does not build up, so there's less risk of fungal growth or foot odor, too. A definite plus.
I tend to use these as liner socks in cold weather with a good wool hiking sock over top of them. I find that my toes get too cold otherwise. They are also good for skiing, although the crew-sock band is too low and slightly uncomfortable inside the boot. I'm going to try the compression socks that go to calf length next time I ski.
If you get blisters on long hikes, these socks will save your feet. And for that alone, they are worth every penny.

My toes get very cold in the winter. I had resorted to spraying them with anti-perspirant, wearing wicking liners, AND wearing thick wool socks. Now I just put on my Injinji socks and I'm done! They take about a week to get used to, but then you'll never go back!

Comments about Injinji Tetratsok Nuwool Outdoor Crew Toesocks:
I have reasonably sweaty feet, and I needed something to wick away the moisture. I used to get blisters bad too (combination of shoes, socks, moisture). However, I really corrected this problem with these socks. I use these on every hike, even as a base layer when hiking in the White Mtns during inclement conditions. I now use these while playing basketball, and they are great.
You only need to pay more attention to putting these on, as you have to help every toe into its enclosure.

I ran with these all winter last year, while wearing Vibrams. Despite nothing other than the thin Vibram outer and these nuwool socks, my feet held up to the cold and snow. FYI, I ran as low as 5 below, and through the post-blizzard snow banks. I have no complaints other than having to remember to line dry these socks.
