The Hawaii 20-inch girls' bike—it's all about fun, easy riding for young ladies on the go.

  • With a single speed and coaster brake, the kids-size Hawaii is simplicity itself; there are no shifters and hand brakes to concern a new rider
  • Floral graphics on the pink frame, fenders and chainguard suit a young lady's sensibilities; she'll find them on the spring-cushioned saddle as well
  • Low step-through frame accommodates a wide range of sizes and makes mounting and dismounting saddle quick and easy
  • Sturdy steel frame withstands all sorts of abuse; metal chain cover and fenders help protect child from grime and moving parts
  • Integrated coaster brake is both effective and intuitively simple to use—just have her pedal in reverse
  • Ergonomic saddle helps balance the child atop the bike in comfort; handlebar design accommodates an upright ride and enhances control
  • Wide balloon tires enhance stability and traction
  • Flat Foot Technology lets a child to rest both feet on the ground while seated on the saddle

Fitting an Electra bike is easy. Start by setting the saddle to its lowest position and then stand over it with both feet flat on the ground. Next, simply raise the saddle until it rests in the crotch. Tighten it in place, and that's it— you're done! After an initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

Comments about Electra Hawaii 1 20-Inch Girls' Bike - 2013:

"It's the greatest bike in the Universe" ~ my 8 year old daughter.
I was hesitant at first to spend that kind of money for an 8 year old who will obviously grow out of the bike, but I feel it was well worth it. I did a lot of comparison between this bike and dept store bikes and the quality of their product is just not there. I feel she is safe riding this bike. It's very cute, and very sturdy, even the fenders are well made. I like that she is able to put her feet flat on the ground since she is still new"ish" to riding. A+

Comments about Electra Hawaii 1 20-Inch Girls' Bike - 2013:

My 9 year old has had this bike for 2.5 years and has loved it. My only problem is that it has rusted. I don't know if there is anything to prevent or fix that - probably not - I don't have a garage to put it in. But besides that, the perfect bike.
