I bought this for our two-year-old's first backpacking trip. Even at two, this was a little small for him. Part of the problem is that it is half the size of a child's sleeping bag, it is hard for them to stay on it through the night. I guess I wish I would have bought him a cheap 99 cent air mattress until he was ready for a full-size sleeping mat.

    Our 5 year old has 10+ backcountry nights and numerous car camping nights with this pad. He tends to be pretty rough on gear, and this durable pad has held up great. He could probably fall asleep on a sack of rocks, so he may not be the best judge of comfort, but I've checked it out and the pad seems to offer exceptional protection and insulation from the ground (especially for being so thin). I wish I had the full size version!
