Comments about Teva Terra-Fi 2 Sandals - Men's:
When you first put on this sandal it is a dream. After a week or so of wear, the sole is pretty well smashed to the shape of your foot. You will get at least a few months of good wear out of them before you start seeing problems. I use my sandals mostly walking/biking around campus, but do some light hiking at a reclaimed quarry near school every couple of weeks when the weather is good. If your sandals pick up grit (sand, gravel, sawdust- you're pretty much guaranteed a blister. The foam pads that make the straps so comfy are impossible to clean without a hose and a bucket of soapy water. Also, avoid hiking in water for extended periods (especially rivers and creeks) apparently the spider rubber (which is so great on wet rocks!) gets brittle in some kinds of water and will crack well before the sole runs out of tread. The sandals also stink to high heaven after a while. The zinc stopped working on mine after about 3 summer months of wear. After that it was baking soda baths every couple of weeks (maybe that's why the sole cracked...). To unstink, you need to scrub the gunk out of the impossible to clean pattern, soak in baking soda solution to remove the smell, and wipe in some oil (tea tree is a good one) to keep your dead foot skin from sticking back on immediately. Be warned, the spider rubber that makes the sandals sooooooo grippy (they really are a great sandal to play in waterfalls in) is really soft, and you will be pretty dissapointed after your first 50 miles on sidewalks and pavement to see that a lot of the tread is bald. All in all the sandal is a great sandal, if you can stomach the idea of replacing it every season or so to avoid the funk. I think [$] is too much to spend every year on a shoe... so I buy on sale and am experimenting with other teva and non-teva sandals. If you're looking for a less serious sandal (not for real hiking), go hurricane... if you really want to hike a tonne, go with something with more arch support like a Chaco (I hate em... but they are a quality sandal) or a toachi, but for comfort on a really hot summer day, on a long walk... the Terra-Fi2's hit the spot.

took these on a 2 mo kayak trip. A little faded from being strapped to the deck, otherwise still kickin'. The terra fi's have a little extra neoprene padding around the straps. The less expensive models without the padding chafe your toes.
The support is good enough for an occaisional jog.
Great grip in slippery conditions, best sandal I have tried.
nylon webbing on the straps has a tendency to get frayed on the surface when scratched. Not structural but annoying on an otherwise perfect shoe. Run a lighter over it to melt off the pilling.
Don't even bother with nike or columbias or cheapo brands, All I have tried come unglued and flat in no time.

Comments about Teva Terra-Fi 2 Sandals - Men's:
I bought a pair about 18 months ago. I have worn them on the water, in the water, around town and on the trail. They are surprisingly supportive sandles that fit my feet better than most sneakers.
When I purchased them, I was concerned about durability of the soles and whether the padding on the staps would wear away. Neither have been a problem. I wear them year-round at least half the time that I'm in shoes. They are wearing flat in spots, but I figure this pair is good for another six months or so.
Cons would include failure of the zinc to prevent odors (or maybe I just have stinky feet), and my foot slips a little on the insole when they get wet. Even still, I've crossed streams and just cinched them up a bit tighter before tackling slopes.
Unfortunately, they're too casual for work - but outside, I'd wear them anywhere I'd wear a pair of sneakers. I've got a spare pair waiting in the closet for the current pair to wear out.

Comments about Teva Terra-Fi 2 Sandals - Men's:
Fit: perfect. Great for backpacking, jet skiing, river crossings, etc. I even play basketball in them. In fact I just wear them every day. After trying a couple dozen sandals, I finally found one that
1) doesn’t get rocks/twigs between foot and sole (when strapped correctly).
2) lightweight.
3) no blisters (when worn with a light sock).
4) excellent traction on wet sloping rock.
I also like the stiff sole which helps with hiking, the shock absorbing heel, and relatively high arch. After 12 months, the Velcro straps are still holding good. When the sandal gets dirty, I just walk through a stream. They dry fast of course. My wife appreciates the antimicrobial treatment. The arch fits in the right place by adjusting the back strap. That should only have to be adjusted once. Teva’s are the only sandal I’ve found where it’s very hard to twist an ankle. This is probably due to its wide footbed. Hiking in these open toe sandals prevents a lot of hiking foot ailments like hammer toe and blisters. I like to tighten them up when backpacking and loosen them up in camp. Then they feel like a slipper. Talk about a multipurpose-do-it-all foot wear! The only con I can think of is the colors never excited me except for the all black model (see Teva website).

Great improvement to my 15 year old Tevas. The padding along the straps prevents the chaffing that led me to buy these. There is nothing better than TEVAS for knocking around the house and wading in the water (fresh or salt).

Comments about Teva Terra-Fi 2 Sandals - Men's:
I bought a pair of these about six years ago now. They have held up to everything I could throw at them, canoeing, hiking(Olympic Penninsula, hundreds of in city miles, Northern MN), and longbaording(although skating in sandals not recommended). They are in my opinion the best sandals available. I've tried other brands, but always end up putting these old ones on. Plenty of support, dry quick, excellent gription, and light. Most importantly they are stink resitant. Every once in a while they do need a good scrub down, like all sandals worn appropriately. Unfortunately I've finally worn through the soles and it's time for a new pair. And I am going with a new pair of these bad boys right here.

Comments about Teva Terra-Fi 2 Sandals - Men's:
I do agree with comments made in the previous reviews. However, I was told shortly after I bought them that they will stain the bottoms of your feet black. I did find out that this was accurate. Particularly around any areas of your feet that may have dry skin such as the heels or toes. The staining is difficult to remove so, check your feet at the end of the day.

Comments about Teva Terra-Fi 2 Sandals - Men's:
These are great sandals for the beach and watersports. They are very comfortable and work well.
I would like these even more if they had more arch support. The lack of arch support is noticable during long walks.
I would recommend that people purchase these sandals 1/2 to 1 full size larger so they get better toe protection.

Teva keeps refining their sandals, and these are the best yet. Comfy soles for long walks, soft straps, pretty light but seem durable.
