Comments about Osprey Porter 65 Travel Pack:
I wanted an ideal bag for travel in europe for a long (month) stay. I find it's easiest to negotiate the streets, trains, and airports with a rolling bag (with no straps) and a backpack bag (with no wheels). Each bag needs to be narrow enough for train aisles, manageable for one person, and haul quite a bit of gear and purchases.
The Osprey is my best piece of luggage yet. It does not have an excess of loose straps to foul in airline baggage handling; it's very sleek when packed. I also appreciate that it does not have an excess of separate compartments, which make packing and finding things more difficult. It's also great that it's very light and compact when empty. You can easily stash it in any corner of a small room or under the bed. The storage capacity to weight ratio is outstanding. The compression system is elegant and will keep any size load stable.
This would also be a great bag by itself for shorter trips, train touring or shorter backpack trips.
The hardware is all well thought out and of highest quality. As someone who has tried a lot of luggage, this is the most optimal piece I've ever owned (and less expensive than most!). If I ever need another bag, I'll check out Osprey first.

Comments about Osprey Porter 65 Travel Pack:
We got both the 65 and the 90 for a trip to Africa. Wish I had it for other trips in the past to South America. When the pavement ends and rolling luggage doesn't cut it, these are the way to go. Carry an ultralight day pack inside for daytriping.
The weight to capacity can't be beat. The compression straps are well done, the pockets are just right, the bag is tough and it is comfortable enough for its intended use.

Comments about Osprey Porter 65 Travel Pack:
I purchased one of these before a recent trip to Afghanistan. I was pretty set on purchasing the Osprey Sojourn but at the last minute I found this pack and I am thoroughly impressed. The construction is excellent, consistent with other Osprey packs I have owned in the past. The compression system is without a doubt, the best I have ever used on a duffle style bag. Even without wheels, there are multiple ways to comfortably carry this bag. The local REI store didn't stock the shoulder carry strap as mentioned in the item description but I found a REI brand one for around [$] that worked out excellent that I would also highly recommend. All in all, this bag is one of the best I have ever owned and I am considering buying one in another size in the future. I recommend this product with zero hesitation.

Comments about Osprey Porter 65 Travel Pack:
This is a great bag with a lot of space with very easy access to the entire contents of the bag. I only used about half of this bag for a week and a half journey through europe. It was great for the trains and the top zipper opening was great for easy access. My only problem with this bag was that I would not recommend using the backpack option for a prolonged period of time. But if you are looking for a large, sturdy bag i would recommend this one because of the convenience of the backpack straps, the pocket on the top and also the compression straps that do a great job in reducing the size of the bag.
