      If you need a bag this warm, this one is worth the extra dough. As a cold woman, I've been almost comfortable in this bag, in layers and a tent, in damp sub zero temps (Fahrenheit). This seems appropriate as I am too small for this bag (5'3") so there is extra space. I do wish they made a short version.
      It stays very dry. I've slept out in light rain and it absorbed nothing. Your body heat seems to push the moisture right out.
      The zipper does snag occasionally, but whose doesn't(western mountaineering...)?
      Overall, well worth the investment for a warm and dry night's sleep!

      The Col is a pretty great winter bag. Sure, it's pricey, but so is gas for your car....what's a good night's sleep worth?

      I use it in the Sierra in the winter. No need for an extra overbag with the EQ fabric - dry as a bone, even in a snowcave. The hood is fluffy and well-fitting, no zippers are exposed to freeze to my face, etc.

      I like the Col especially since I feel the temperature rating is pretty true compared to other bags (it's warmer than a -40F bag I own) and the down baffles on the chest keep the down in place well. Plus, compared to other winter bags of this rating, it's light and stuffs small.

      As with other big bags, the zipper snags a lot, and it's sometime tough to navigate which cord/snap/zipper goes to what part when you're half asleep. But, when they invent solutions to that, they'll probably also have something better than down filled bags anyway.

      What more could I want? Never regretting dropping the coin on this guy, for sure.

      marmot is know for it's quality and innovative/technical design. what sold me on this bag is it's verticle baffle design in the chest area. i do get cold when i sleep so i investigated many brand name bags and this bag has a proven design to keep my chest warm and cozy. the verticle baffles prevent the down from shifting to the sides,and keeps it where you need it most, its truly a great design. i just came back from mt. marcy in the dacks up state new york where the mecury fell to minus 13 saturday evening with 20 inches of fresh snow and i must say that i remained comfy and cozy warm in this bag. as others have said, the zipper did snag on occasion but what bag doesn't? a little on the heavy side compaired to other minus 20 dgree bags out there, but in reality, check the loft and weight of down in the bags you are concidering. i feel that this bag's temp rating is very accurate.

      I took this bag tramping in NZ during the winter. This is not a lightweight bag compared to other -20 bags, probably because it is very well-made and roomy. I have never regretted anything about it. Zipper does catch, but I dont remember it being annoying enough to bother me. I sleep very cold - I was wearing Cap4 with the bag and stayed hydrated, and was cosy. I highly recommend this bag.

        I recently took this sleeping bag with me up Kili and was so warm I didn't even zip it up all the way. If you are a female looking for a warm sleeping bag this is it! It compresses easily into the stuff-sack as well.
