Comments about Marmot Pinnacle +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
I have been backpacking for over 20 years and try to buy lightweight equipment that I can trust. The Pinnacle is very light weight in relation to the warmth it delivers.Last week I was backpacking in the northern Olympics. I am not sure of temps but when I left, temps at sea level were expected to reach down into low 30's and I hiked up to about 3000 feet. I awoke one morning to snow outside my tent but I was never cold inside my bag. Things might get a little tight around the shoulders when you cinch down the bag to keep warmth in but below that there is plenty of room. The hood is designed well and did an excellent job of keeping me warm. I slept wearing a set of long underwear and was never cold for any of the 3 nights of my trip.A huge FYI ... there was precipitation each night, rain the first night and snow the next 2, and as the condensation builds in your tent it will fall on the bag. The bag never got wet all the way through but the lack of sunshine did not allow me to dry the bag as I would have liked. I do believe there were a couple of spots that were not as warm (I tend to sleep warm)and should concern those who want to maintain its temp rating. I was never cold and in fact maybe a tad too warm. A bivy might be necessary. All in all I expect to use this bag for many years to come and would gladly recommend the purchase of this warm, light and comfortable bag.

Great sleeping bag. I returned this one for the Marmot Helium, because it has a little more fill and is a little lighter. [$]

Worth the extra money, Marmot really lives up to their name. Quality, Quality, Quality! Truly a 15 degree bag. Up till now I never experienced a bag with a true rating, thanks Marmot.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
I bought this to replace my 12 year old Sierra Designs synthetic bag. I still have for backup but really what's the point? I sleep hot so I went with the 15D bag instead of a 0D bag for 3-season trips and the occasional winter trip. I found it to be warm, comfortable, and highly packable. I've always been pleased w/ Marmot's gear and this is no exception. I do wish it had a better inside pocket that was a bit bigger.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
i'd say it's good dwn to 20 degree's. I had it down to 5 and didn't sleep great but it's not designed for those temps but some would be fine. Very tough bag. Had it for years and it's like new. Can't beat the price. Perfect 3 season bag! Not the lightest but i
I would still take it over any other 3 season bag.

I like the Helium better. You just don't get the longer zipper. The adjustable hood with no velcro around the face is great. Kept me warm in the Olympic NP 2 weeks ago at 5500 feet. Packs down small and light weight, yet lofts back up easily. Love the premium fill down Marmot uses, definately worth the extra price. My second down bag, but first from Marmot and certainly not my last either. After trying out this one, got the Atom for summer use and unbelievable lighter weight. Chose Marmot because they are sized a little roomier and worth it.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
This is a solid bag for cold nights and cold sleepers. I have used this bag down to 20 F with no problems, and I consider myself a medium warm sleeper. I have bivied in this bag at 11,500 feet, waking up to frost on the outer shell, with little to no penetration of moisture to the inner down.
The full length zipper backed by a durable zipper guard prevents snagging of the zipper and allows the bag to be opened nearly all the way, allowing the bag to be used as a quilt when it is warmer. The Marmot hood is legend and cradles your head in down comfiness without obnoxiously drawing too close to your face. The footbox is phenomenal! I love the extra down pillow sewn into the top of the inner side of the footbox which allows the down to loft around your feet. I have never had cold feet in this bag.
The bag compressed very well and lofts back up in a short period of time. I have only had a few feathers come through the outer shell during the last two years of use. I would highly recommend this bag for anyone looking for a solid three season bag that could be stretched into a fourth season with the use of either a fleece liner or a bivy sack.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
This sleeping bag is downright solid. I've had my Pinnacle for five years now. During that time, it's probably spent 100 or so days in a stuff sack and the rest of them laid flat under my bed, and it shows no depreciation in loft or warmth. It's kept me comfortable in 80 degree nights in August and 15 degree nights in April at 10000 feet in the Sierras. The drawstrings on the hood are great for adjusting heat retention, the zipper holds up like a champ, and after a storm the thing dries
out in less time than it takes to eat lunch. I'd be pretty hard pressed to come up with any complaints.

Slept out in windy 20 degree weather in a cheap summer tent to test this bag. I slept in long underwear but really didn't need it. Even my feet were warm! Started with a balaclava but took it off in favor of just a skull cap. Draft collar is very functional and easy to use in the dark. Draft tube over zipper works well too. Easy to get in and out of but who wants to get out? Compresses well and returns to full loft well. I am 6'7" tall and this bag fit me very well with a little room to spare.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle +15 Sleeping Bag - Long:
Once you get in, you won't want to get out. It is that cozy. It's warm, light and feels like home. It is true to its rating and if thats not enough throw in a liner and have no second thought. I am very picky about my gear and I don't recommend without it being worthy. Get outdoors and stay out!
