When backpacking, I've always had trouble with my toes rubbing together and would wind up using a combination of band-aids and duct tape to keep my toes separated. I've always used liners with my wool hiking socks, but would always have the toes rubbing together (my wife says they're shaped funny). I was preparing for our recent 3-day backpacking trip and found these liners while perusing the goodies at REI and thought I'd take a chance and spend the [$] to try them out. Wow. What a difference. I won't use any other liners from now on. Not a single 'between the toe' blister this trip. First time in seven years of backpacking that I finally have a liner that works for my 'funny shaped toes'. Just be prepared for the laughter from the other guys in your group when you're slipping into your 'toe socks'. They can laugh all they want now!

they are my favorite socks but for their incredible lack of durability, which makes them average instead of perfect.

i've actually darned a few pairs of these socks because they wear out easily at the toes and balls of your feet--if you have a small light bulb, like for a taillight, it'll work nicely as a mushroom in the toes.

also, if you're close to the top of the size limit, consider getting the next bigger one.

I used to get blisters on my toes, but since I started using these as liners under my hiking socks, I haven't had any. On our last backpacking trip (27 miles), I had to hike out without them and got blisters. Never again. I love these socks.

I bought these socks for use with thong sandals. The idea is good, but the 4th or 5th time I put them on I noticed a hole 1"-2" behind the little toe on the left sock. That is very disappointing, considering what they cost. I would NOT recommend them.

these are very comfortable and warm socks. they are great for winter running outside and keeping my feet warm in general. however, i had them for barely more than a month before they started to wear holes in the big toes and the balls of my feet.

i still like the concept a lot, so i'll recommend them, but i won't buy any more if this happens on another pair.

Okay, I know they look ridiculous, but I swear, these are the best socks ever. I get sideways looks from everyone I know when they see me wearing these, but I don't care.

The best analogy I have heard is the glove/mitten comparison. Regular socks are like mittens. All you fingers are ganged together in one pocket and help warm each other. With gloves, you fingers each have it's own space to regulate temperature. It's the same with these socks. They just feel more comfortable with the toes separated.

An added benefit to this is that they help prevent blisters because the toes are all separated and don't rub against each other.

I have every model of socks they have and I like the nuwool ones the best for heavy use. The others are fine for everyday, gym, etc.

I wore a pair of these on the 17+ mile hike to Half Dome in shoes that weren't up to the task and I did not get one blister. No moleskin, either. That is a testament to these socks.

I'm a regular backpacker and hiker who used to use normal liner socks, which are great for uphill hikes but do not prevent toe blisters on the downhill.
However, these toe socks are great! They feel strange at first for a guy who's never worn toe socks before, but after a while, they feel no different than regular socks except they give you more freedom for the toes. Using these socks as liners for hiking, I've never gotten a blister in them and would highly reccommend them to any hiker, backpacker, or runner.
Also the mini crews are good too; it all depends on preference.

Last summer I walked across the country (San Francisco to DC). After the first week I was developing bad blisters in between my toes. A friend then took me to REI for the first time. I explained my problem and they recommended these socks. I bought one pair and ended up wearing them every day the following week. After that I bought 4 more pairs. The socks all lasted the whole trip. I never got a single blister while wearing them. I will warn though, they are left and right specific, so it can be quite difficult to find a pair in a crazy sock drawer.

This is the first and only sock that I have ever found that truly prevents toe blisters. This sock made an 80 mile hike at the BSA Philmont high adventure camp a breeze. Toe blisters have always plagued me after being active on my feet for several hours per day. This sock design and fabric are phenomenal.

I love these socks (and I'm picky when it comes to footware). I tried them while searching for toe socks to replace the japanese brand I had worn out and find these to be equal or superior to the ones I previously owned. I now have Injinji socks of many different styles for different activities so I don't ever have to go without them.
