Great tool. I got it and the first weekend though, the pliers metal snapped when I used the wire cutter. Brought it back [...]and they replaced it ([...]). The new one has been perfect since then though.... guess the first one was defective.

Comments about Gerber Suspension Multi-Pliers:
I quite liked the tool, especially for the money I paid [$]but it was very hard to impossible to open most of the tools. One has to use his nails for the inner tools and some of them just didn't move at all. Also, the serrated knife, despite of its pretty big nob on the blade was so hard to move that I had to push very hard to open it. Actually, the only tool that open smooth was the normal knife. I liked that all tools lock but to unlock them, the mechanism sliders are sharp on fingers and in a long term, I'd be worried about durability because the base of the mechanism is plastic. Other things I didn't like were short blades, no pile, limited number of tools (no exchangeable tools) and thickness of the handles. To be fair, after some use, the tools get little easier to open but considering my overall impression, I still went and exchanged it for a Leatherman's New Wave.Overall, the Gerber tool is good and I would recommend it to some but I've already tried several cheaper tools and was not wiling to have something I wasn't fully satisfied with again.

Recieved this as a gift a long time ago, its been through a lot of abuse and still works like new. Its affixed to my shoulder strap on my Fox Oasis Hydration Pack for easy access. I like this multi-tool better than any other multi-tool ive owned. I did find the inner tools hard to pull out but with a lil loosening of the srew they open just fine.

Comments about Gerber Suspension Multi-Pliers:
I bought this a few years ago as my first multi-tool and the coolest thing about it was the spring loaded grip. Hard to believe no one thought of this before and it seems as though this should be a standard feature amongst them all.I have since moved on to the Skelitool but I still use this one on occasion and it still works just as good as the day I bought it!!

Very useful and a good value. Like others have said, it is heavy, but it is very durable so that is the price you pay. Overall a good product and would recommend it.

This is the first multi-tool I've had in 8 years. They have come a long way. It's great.
