Comments about Highgear TrailPilot 2 Compass:
Great for carrying in your pocket with no sharp corners but really disappointing when bubbles in the liquid display began forming making it cumbersome to read (avoiding the bubbles that influence the needle). It was never exposed to temperature extremes, either.

Comments about Highgear TrailPilot 2 Compass:
A great idea but this compass needs work. The temperature gauge is very accurate but there is no on/off switch so your battery drains in about 3 months if you leave it in. The compass itself can be accurate sometimes but mostly not. I have to spin in circles to get a reading that is not always right. It has a hard time finding north. I like the fingertip adjustable declination but when you use it the needle moves all over the place then you have to set yourself up again. If it cant find north what good will it do you. It fits snug in your hand and easy to read. Its light at only 2oz so use it only has a temperature gauge
and backup compass. IF the compass was improved to be reliable then it would be my only compass.
