Thieves cut the cable very quickly and stole my bike off the porch in broad daylight. Probably had bolt cutters or something similar, but went through the cable like butter.

I have several bikes because I do not own a car. 2 of the bikes I salvaged from the dumster so they have low value but I do not want them stolen. It is on these that I use this cable. I also use this type of cable to lock my seat, and anything I can get it through, around, over as additional security on my expensive bikes, also I lock 2 bikes together when I ride with my wife along with our heavy cables, u-locks, and chains.

For my purposes, this cable is perfect. I weave it through both tires and attach one loop to my u-lock. Often times I can't fit my u-lock around my frame+a wheel+bike post, so with this cable I just lock my frame to the bike post (both wheels already attached to the u-lock)
The outer coating of the cord is quite thick and rubbery, and I have no worries about it wearing down and scratching my bike.
