Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
Got this rack to take around my Cannondale MB. No problems with the installation, the rack held the bike firm on the highway (65+ mph) and over pot holes. Thule includes extra stabilizing brackets that are not show in the pictures...these worked well. No issues with damage to the car or the bike with this rack. The only reason this is 4 instead of 5 stars is my MB has a shallow angle at the fork, and won't fit on this rack strapped by the top tube (like it should). I have to hang it on the back of the top tube and the front of the bottom tube...not ideal, but since the bike has a strong frame I don't think it will hurt anything.

Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
The instructions were difficult to follow.
There was supposed to be a number in the instructions specific for my car to set the hub screw. There wasn't. Once I figured out how to install it, it was easy.
Strap is difficult to keep away from muffler.
Female bikes do not fit well on rack.

Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
This bike rack is not complicated at all. I love simple and useful and this is it! Never have had a problem. Owned it for 2 years now. Traveled hours on the highway with it on the back and its great. The front tire of the bike does move a little but I've never had a problem with that. If you are at all paranoid about that though, you can attach another piece that will stabilize the bike.

Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
The installation instructions were easy to follow. The side straps loosen easily - so bikes tend to sway left to right. Women's and children's bikes are a little difficult to get on, but otherwise, this rack does the job!

Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
This product is OK ... it holds the bike firmly. It takes a bit of fiddling to get the straps to sit right, and I'm always worried about scratches to the finish. It is possible to open the trunk with the rack on, but not easily. Sometimes the strap holders get loose in the process.
I think I might have been happier with one that mounted to a trailer hitch ...

Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
Bought this rack a few years ago, but after Thule redesigned the first Speedway that was recalled. Turns out this one is not any more durable; we nearly had a catastrophe on the expressway after seeing the two bikes, in the review mirror, slip from the car. The bikes were still securely fastened to the rack, but the rack's parts broke away from each other, causing the bikes to slip. After examining the rack, it was clear that what the manufacturer called an improvement of the design did not fix the problem. Could have been a diasaster.

Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
I researched numerous trunk mount racks after selling my SUV and purchasing an Audi A4 sedan. This rack mounted quick and easy; however, on the second use one of the foam bumper supports split at a seam. This allowed the steel tubing to make contact with the vehicle paint. Further, the device that fastens to the bike's seat tube did rub the paint off on one trip. This problem could possibly be solved by placing a piece of cloth or foam substance between the bike and the plastic holder on the bike rack.
This rack is quite stable and holds the bike nicely. The problems that I described are intrinsic challenges with any trunk mount rack, I believe.
I did return the rack and continue researching on a better choice. So far, I've not found one. I plan to test a Saris Bones RS, which is recommended for the Audi.

Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
Have only used it a few times- took my mountain bike to work to ride at a nearby park after work. It was quick and ease to mount to my car (Nissan Sentra). I have to cross a bridge and the bike was stable- even in some wind. I haven't tested the stability of the rack with 2 bikes mounted, yet.
I'm a bit paranoid of theft so a way to lock the rack to my car would be nice- but it's easy enough to remove and re-mount.

Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
Instructions for specific vehicle make and model are quite weak. After some different placement of hooks and lots of prayer, i feel confident bikes are secure. It is very strong. bikes move very little in route. Very easy to put together. The seat post clamps do not fit nor work on specialized MTB's. (not sure of other makes) Simple to use. Happy with the product. was a bit pricey however.

Comments about Thule Speedway 2 Bike Rack:
I got this bike rack and got it on my car easy enough, but my small women's bike would not fit on it. I have a 13.5 bike, so it is small, but it was frustrating having to return it. I eventually found a Yakima one that works, but if you can bring your bike into the shop when purchasing the product and make sure it works, that would be better. If it fits your bike, it's an awesome rack.
