    Comments about Profile Stryke Kage:

I have 2 of these cages and have used them for many miles on my road bike. No complaints thus far...they are extremely light and a great value. After reading the other reviews, I would think twice before putting them on my commuter or mountain bike, though.

I bought 3 for my new touring bike because I liked the older profile cages because they worked good and didn't turn bottles gray like metal cages do.2 of 3 broke within 3 months so I returned all three [...] Thanks REI for stsnding behind your products.

      Comments about Profile Stryke Kage:

What I needed: A light yet strong water bottle cage for commuting to school and for mountain biking trips. The Good: It's lightweight. Given my experience, that's about the only good thing I can report! The Bad: I lost my water bottle on the first rocky downhill stretch. I knew at this moment that saving one dollar on the cage means little when it causes you to lose your[$]water bottle! The Verdict: Not for mountain biking. It just doesn't hold on tight enough. With the infinitesimal weight difference, I can't see myself saying anything but, "just get the aluminum cage. It's stronger and just about as light."

        Comments about Profile Stryke Kage:

I bought a metal cage and this one because I couldn't decide which was "better" to put on my road bike. Metal went on the down tube and Stryke on the seat tube. When the metal cage broke in a crash, I purchased another Stryke Kage to replace it in March 09. My season took me over "cobblestones" -- miles of broken asphalt and pot-holes -- and a loop-race with a crazy, bumpy descent known for flying waterbottles and parts coming loose on the bike. These cages hold the bottles like a champ, but it isn't hard to get a drink either.

I have two of these on my mountain bike which I ride on road and off road. I like that it is easy to use and light weight. Although I have not broken one myself it does seem possibly that it could break with too much force.

Had a couple fancier plastic/alum cages on my bike. When one broke, I picked up two of these as replacements. Bottles fit nice & snug, seemed to work great. While bunnyhopping a cattle grate at ~22mph on my road bike, the cage on the seat-tube portion of the frame cracked in half & fell off - cracked right down the middle. Hopefully just a material flaw. The other cage is still solid and the company is sending a replacement.

I purchased 4 of these for my bikes. They are cheap and light, easy to mount. However, I have lost bottles multiple times while riding. Last night I lost a bottle for the second time this month during a race. I will be looking for something else today.

I wanted a Bottle cage that looked a little different to match up with my road bicycle. This fit the bill and was a few dollars less than other cages. Currently holds my water bottle tightly, yet easily releases the bottle when I need it. A great buy, huge $$ savings over carbon cages.

I picked one of these up as I was sick of my metal cage constantly throwing my bottles. This thing will not throw a bottle no matter the abuse I give it. I tightened mine down fairly decently and had no problems that the others have commented on.

                Comments about Profile Stryke Kage:

I've used these cages for over 2 years both my road bike and my mountain bike - never had a problem. Note that users should ALWAYS tighten screws per mfg. instructions - this goes for cages as well as stems, seat post collar, etc. My bottles never jump out or rattle with these cages. The cage on my mountain bike has taken a few whacks that would have demolished a carbon fiber cage.

I really like the style of this cage - looks good on my matte black fat tube c/f frame - but not all the Profile logos. Profile uses logo restraint on its carbon cages - why not the resin cages, too?

I'm surprised Profile doesn't offer a "carbon look" version of this cage, ala Elite!
