Comments about Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent:
I loved this little tent and I used it often. It's light weight and compact, and easy to set up. If the ground is too hard/soft for the stakes, just use rocks to hold it down. It was very good to me until it eventually started leaking from the bottom. Setting it up in a spot with good drainage definitely helps, but after a couple years of use, it was leaking every time it rained.

Comments about Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent:
This tent is a great tent for backpacking and during other activities when weight is an issue. It is very simple and fast to set up. The rain-fly works well if staked down well. The only problem is the space inside the tent. It is very cramped with two people. 1 person, dog, and gear works better than 2 people. Overall, the tent is very light, easy to set up, durable, and cheap.

Comments about Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent:
Yes, I have used and abused my clip flash light for work and for pleasure. It has provided a dependable warm, dry space. After 16 years it finally leaked (in strong winds and wet snow, and only on the windward side). My friends can't believe this could happen, but I know how may miles this little tent has weathered...I hope the next generation is as well made.

Comments about Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent:
I've been using this tent as a solo backpacking tent for at least the past four years. It is easily set up, quick and stable. The rainfly is easy to put on and the tent maintains well without the fly in good weather. I think this tent works very well for one; or perhaps one person with a pet, but would be overly cramped for two people.

This was my first tent. It worked great for me. Only reason I got a new tent was that I wanted a free standing.

Comments about Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent:
Super lightweight- so very good for backpacking.
However.....
1. You MUST have stakes because it is not freestanding
2. When you're in the tent the top sides of the tent fall inwards towards you, though it is comfortable enough for ONE person
3. Very cramped inside. While i was able to fit two people in it (like it says) it was only possible since we were both ~ 5ft tall AND really good friends (aka, don't mind being Very Close)
4. If you want rain protection/fresh air you Must guy out the sides of the tent (not good if there's no trees to guy them to)
5. If it does rain this is about the most unspacious tent you could be stuck in for hours.
All in all, if you need to take a tent for just yourself and you're backpacking (where there's trees to guy to and hard ground to stake into) then this is a mega light weight tent so it might work for you.
However, if you're travelling with a buddy, it's better to get a far higher quality tent and have one of you carry the tent- the other person carry the food.

Comments about Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent:
I'm a youth group backpacking trip leader, taking youth from about age 11 or 12 and up on weekend trips in our area, as well as a few week-long trips to the mountains. It's a constant struggle to find gear that is durable, affordable, easy enough for inexperienced youth to use, and really lightweight (because most the kids aren't big enough to carry much weight, and the rest of us are too old to appreciate schlepping around more that we absolutely have to).
We've had this tent for four years and it's by far the one that gets the most use. While some larger adults might find the space a little cramped for two, the kids fit just fine, as do a child and adult. We once even piled in three people for warmth during a freak summer high-altitude snowstorm. And we adult leaders are used to traveling light, so our gear fits inside with us well enough, especially when we use packs as pillows or footrests.
Our first Clip Flashlight just got a good cleaning, and after four years of frequent use and rough treatment, it hardly shows any wear, and has needed no repairs. Properly set up, it breathes well enough for my steam factory of a 6'2" teenage son to sleep in it without any problem.
I worried at first about the fact that it's not freestanding because I thought that might make it harder for the kids to set up, but they actually seem to prefer it. The bonus is that they always stake it down, which they often neglect to do with the freestanding tents (occasionally with somewhat unfortunate results).
This tent is about as lightweight as you can get without paying a LOT more money. That and its durability make it a great value for young backpackers, individual adults, or anyone hiking with a dog. Adults traveling together should check it out first to see if they're comfortable sharing a tent this size.

Comments about Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent:
A great tent. I spent a month living in it and couldn't have asked for anything easier to set up. It's decently lightweight, although can get a bit heavy on solo backpacking trips. Easy to set up in a flash. Held up to a couple of good New Mexico thunderstorm downpours. Could be a bit short/small for bigger people (I'm only 5'3").

Comments about Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent:
This tent is good for someone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend on a fancy, super lightweight tent. It is a bit cramped due to the design (non-dome), and it also gets a bit stuffy inside. There is a slight lack of vents, and with the fly on, very little air circulation without a good strong breeze.
It is perfect for car camping or backpacking if you don't mind a bit of extra weight. If two people are planning to use it, it certainly helps if one of them is a bit smaller :-)
