Comments about Black Diamond Camalot C4 Cams:
These are great cams. However, since they are not being made in China, I will be purchasing my active protection from DMM or Wild Country for now on.

Comments about Black Diamond Camalot C4 Cams:
There is nothing better to ease your fears than knowing the piece below you is a well placed Camalot. The C4's new trigger design works great with gloves, has a solid smooth action and the thumb loop is very secure. The double axle design offers unrivaled weight to expansion range ratios. Nothing else inspires more confidence and when on the sharp end that is an important attribute. Sizes .5-3 are the workhorses of any modern rack. Any smaller than the .5 and I would rather use a Metolius TCU.

Comments about Black Diamond Camalot C4 Cams:
The backbone of any trad rack. The dual axle not only increases the range, but makes placement feel simple. I preferred other cams until BD updated the C4 with a thumb loop. Now I've got the .4 to 4 and take them on a route before anything else. In smaller sizes, however, I prefer the more solid TCU.
The only con is that I've found they are sometimes harder to work free from a tricky placement than other cams I've used. I also wish they came in discounted sets, maybe .3 to .75 and 1 to 4.

The pinnacle of active gear. They hold true under multiple falls. Highly recommended. Must have for any rack.

Comments about Black Diamond Camalot C4 Cams:
Bd makes a wonderful cam. The reason I marked both "lightweight" and "bulky" was because the smaller sizes (up until about number 2) are IMO pretty light. 3 and up get more bulky than anything....however ask any one of my partners which cam I reach for when I am 20 feet run out on a 5.10 crack? BD C4.

Comments about Black Diamond Camalot C4 Cams:
With large triggers and a huge thumb loop, no chance of dropping these babies. The wide head and extended range of these cams make them super stable and easy to place. They are so confidence inspiring, especially when you're getting pumped 20 feet above one.

Comments about Black Diamond Camalot C4 Cams:
I have at least 2 of each of the 0.75 to 4.0 camalots. I have no problems with them. I always feel secure when using them. On the smaller ranges I use TCUs, which I like as much as the larger Camalots.

These are the most popular cams on the market for a reason. Not only are they proven, but they also give you that confidence when you are high above your last piece.

Comments about Black Diamond Camalot C4 Cams:
In doing research for piecing my rack together. I have found that Black Diamond cams are the way to go. Black diamonds have a good range, easy to squeeze, and are durable. Other cames such as friends are good too, Omegas are good to have 1, [...], Metolious....., Black diamonds are just a great asset to the rack.
