Comments about Black Diamond Flicklock Traverse Adjustable Poles:
The flicklock system is amazing, no jams, and no accidental loosenings, and you can flick them open and shut without taking your gloves off.
I've been using these both as regular ski poles and for snowshoeing/AT. They don't go as short as most trekking poles, but at 2ft long they will easily stow onto a backpack. I recommend replacing the original baskets for powder baskets.
The only issue for regular skiing is the strength of the pole, it tends to bend pretty easily.

Comments about Black Diamond Flicklock Traverse Adjustable Poles:
Two girlfriends and myself have all gotten these poles this year and are really happy with their adjustability. The "half basket" keeps you from whacking your own legs, and the adjustability is easy to use - especially great when hiking up ungroomed trails in a foot of fresh snow. My only trepidation is they are less stiff than my solid poles. It's a trade-off I'm willing to make for the greater range of heights.

Comments about Black Diamond Flicklock Traverse Adjustable Poles:
The BD flicklock system is, hands down, the best adjustment system for a pole - secure AND you can do it with your gloves on. My only complaint is that these bent a little too easily when piled under a bunch of gear, but hey, for this price you can get a backup pair.
