Comments about Kelty Red Cloud 6650 Pack:
To anyone out there who is looking for a pack that is built to last and can take you almost anywhere, look no further. However, you had better be ready for a seriously heavy load when this thing is filled and ready for a long trip. I can pack nearly 70 pounds in this pack and swing it over my shoulder to hit the trail. I am 6'3" and weigh 260 pounds so I can handle the weight, but comfort is a key with that kind of weight for a long trip. I usually only have time to do a 2 or 3 night hike, so when I get there I don't want to have forgotten anything or be any more achy than possible. This pack adjusts so easily to my 54" chest and really feals like a part of me once everything is strapped in. It has a nice place for a water bladder built in that makes drinking really convenient too. I have owned this for 2 years now and it hasn't failed me yet.

Comments about Kelty Red Cloud 6650 Pack:
Initially it was tough getting this pack adjusted. I had to tweak it a lot and bend the aluminum stays several times to get them to match my torso.
That being said, once I got this pack adjusted it feels pretty good. I hauled about 60 pounds of gear up to our base camp on Mount Hood with this pack and it performed very well.
I really like the fleece lined sunglasses pouch which is ideal for your expensive alpine glasses.
This pack has tons of storage.

Comments about Kelty Red Cloud 6650 Pack:
The room you need to carry gear for longer winter treks, or for kids/smaller partners that can't. So big it is easy to overload. Tough! Even survives airlines, if put in heavy clear plastic NTSA bags to prevent straps and buckles snagging on carousels. Too big if you are trying to go light. Amazingly adjustable. Allows back to breath prety well. Comfortable.

Comments about Kelty Red Cloud 6650 Pack:
This is a fabulous pack for the buck. One of the highest capacity packs out there. Great construction, lots of outside pockets, lots of storage space with separate sleeping bag compartment. Accesible from bottom, side and top, a fabulous feature that every big pack should have. It takes some fiddling to get a perfect fit but once you get that you can haul 60lbs + of gear for miles with comfort and style. I loaded it this fall for a 4 day camping trip to lake Lila in Adirondaks and hiked for 6-7 miles with ease. If there is one department where this pack falls short is that it weighs a bit over 6lb, not the lightest pack. However it is sturdy! I love this pack very much, and I am looking forward years of use.

Spacious pack with excellent number of pockets, access, and adjustments. Can tailor loads well. Great when carrying heavier loads or extra amounts of food/equipment. A heavier pack. Durable. Have used for years. A favorite.

I like this pack a lot. I like the shoulder straps because they are easy to adjust while I'm hiking when my shoulders or waist gets sore.

Comments about Kelty Red Cloud 6650 Pack:
Obviously with a pack like this I couldn't call myself a minimalist, even though I like to pack as little as possible. This is a pack for those looong trips where you've GOT to pack a lot. I love it. I tried a ton of women's packs and ultimately opted for this one, even though it's not "specially designed for the contours of a woman's body" or anything like that. I have a huge arch in my back that this pack cushions and supports better than any other I've tried. And it's huge! Great for two week long wilderness forays with the dog. He especially likes it because I can fit all of HIS stuff in here too. My old external frame Kelty holds lots of fond memories but I'm glad I opted for the new Red Cloud. Kelty is a superb company that makes excellent quality gear and I will continue to buy their equipment. I certainly couldn't be happier with my pack.

Comments about Kelty Red Cloud 6650 Pack:
I love my Kelty RedCloud 6650. I use it every month while camping with the Scouts, and for almost every backpacking trip I make on my own.
It's got capacity to suit almost any adventure, adjustability to help keep things comfy, and is easy to store things (and more importantly, get at things once they are packed!).
The only downside is that it's not a super lightweight pack. The extra few pounds, however, make this durable and flexible pack, a regularly used item in my gear kit!!

Comments about Kelty Red Cloud 6650 Pack:
I've used this pack extensively through 6 straight seasons and several long trips to the BWCA, and it's never faltered. Comfy, large enough for heavy clothing and extra gear. I've never had so much as a snag in a zipper. Highly recommend.
