I like to wear these pants for day hiking, especially in the spring and fall when you're not sure about which way the temperature is going to go. I also wear them when I fly and on long drives, as they don't easily wrinkle and are breathable. They are fast-drying if you need to wash them at night for the next morning. The fit is more flattering than the Sahara pants.

I wore these pants practically every day on a five day hike in the alps. The zippers for turning them into shorts were great. They dried very quickly. All in all perfect for on the trail. Even pretty decent styling for on the town, but it did seem that wash and wear created some pilling in the seat area... and there was some shrinkage even though it was a synthetic material. So I am not sure of their lasting power

These pants are really great, especially since they come in petite sizes. They have been great pants to bring camping and also on hikes. It allows for less packing because you have a pair of shorts in pants in one. These pants change easily and conveniently from pants to shorts. These pants are very lightweight and breathable to wear in strenous hikes. I knew after I purchased these pants that I needed to have another pair in my arsenal. The only con I can think of is that the sizes run a bit small so don't be surprised if you have to get a size larger than you normally are.

I had never owned a pair of these pants, so I didn't know what to expect. They are great! I wear them on daily hiking treks and when I travel. In fact, they are now my favorite travel pants and are great on short or long-haul flights. They breath, are roomy enough and double as great casual wear. Love the extra pockets - perfect passport and credit card sizes. Would love pockets like that on the other leg as well.

I love these pants. they fit pretty gosh darn good, I only dont care too much for the waist band on it it doesnt give me quit enough room. But everywhere else is PERFECT! I it it works out great for those of us who have shorter legs cause they run alittle shorter than the saharas.

I was never a fan of zip off pants - I couldn't stand how the zipper rubbed and chafed my thighs as I hiked. I found all convertible pants annoying and uncomfortable.
Then I tried the REI Denali pants, and my attitude totally changed. I really like that these zip off into capris - not because I prefer capris to shorts, but because it means the zip off part is well out of my way while I'm hiking.
These pants are very comfortable and functional, while at the same time flattering. I have put them through a fair amount of abuse on the trails, and they have not disappointed me.
Size-wise, I would say they run a bit on the shorter side (note to manufacturers: PLEASE offer women's hiking pants in "long" sizes! Please!), but otherwise are a pretty true fit.
These are a classic pair of pants that will serve you well, no matter where the road or trail may take you.
