Comments about Columbia River P.E.C.K. In The Dark Knife:

A cleverly designed -- and extremely sharp -- knife, when correctly sharpened. It folds away into almost nothing and clips to your belt or pocket ... until you need it to cut a cord or open a box. Then it opens instantly with a flick of a thumb.

Though it has only half a standard grip, the knife blade is perfectly safe when closed, because the blade sits flat up against the grip. Thus, this blade is designed to be sharpened on one side only. If you sharpen on two sides (say, with a v-shaped sharpening tool) the blade no longer is flat against the handle and it *will* start to catch and cut skin.

Myself, I just clip it to my pocket and forget it's there until needed. It has top-notch construction. Stainless steel covered with black Teflon will last a long time and keep a good edge.

Comments about Columbia River P.E.C.K. In The Dark Knife:

I keep this little knife in my backpack, where it has come in handy often. I love that it's so small and lightweight. As others have said, you can forget it's there. It's sharp enough, but it can be a little hard to cut with sometime. The addition of a few serrated teeth right near the base of the blade would make it perfect.

Comments about Columbia River P.E.C.K. In The Dark Knife:

This is the only CRKT knife I have ever had any complaints with. It is durable, sharp, and well-made, as are all of CRKT's knives. However, the way this blade rests against the frame when folded is not as safe as one would be led to believe. There's a small space between the actual edge/point and the frame, allowing for skin (especially of the fingers, fumbling in the pockets) and fabric to be caught and cut. I returned this knife after it slashed the pocket of my favorite pants while closed. Can't win 'em all, I guess.

Comments about Columbia River P.E.C.K. In The Dark Knife:

I just go the knife today and I need something bigger than it. I'm a Scout and I love camping and I thought it was a decent sized knife when I saw it on here, but I just need more of a knife. If you are not in to the outdoors and need something basic for around the house, I'd reccomend it.

I love this knife! It's so small that you don't even know it's clipped to your pocket. Problem is, I've forgotten it's there and ran it through the wash a few times. It didn't hurt it though.

Comments about Columbia River P.E.C.K. In The Dark Knife:

I have the KISS version with a Tanto blade but it is essentially the same knife just a bit smaller. With the Teflon coating, it can wear off if you don't think about it and throw it in your pocket with change or keys, but thats just common sense. Mine is looking a bit salt and pepper because I don't treat it as well as my M16-12Z (The Best Usable Knife I Have Ever Owned).

I bought this knife becasue it is small and easy to use and it is exactly that. If you want a simple knife that is well designed and well manufactured go for it. My only suggestion is that if you are going to have this knife anywhere near keys, change, or anything that might chip the finish, then go for the plain finish, but otherwise this is a great lightweight knife.

All of CRKT's products are great.

About as small as a knife can be (and still be useful). Disappears into your pocket, yet does many tasks when required.

I am ready to ditch my bulky tri-fold wallet and use the money clip for what I actually need: driver license, credit card and $20 cash. The knife locks both open and closed = safe in your pocket, and is nice to have along.

I have this knife tied to my pack by a 3-foot nylon rope so that it will never get lost and it is in one of my side pouches.
This makes it a very handy when you need it quickly and do not half to worry about dropping it. A great design, lightweight and easy to use and clean.
