Comments about Thule Aero Foot Pack:
Ordered the set of Aero foot with fit kit for a 2008 Honda Fit. The Aero foot was basically impossible to install. Made a trip back to REI for assistance and was told to "call Thule". After 3 hrs of fighting the assembly I returned them. When you slide the bars inside the tower, you must compress a cam to lock the bars in place. You better be *really* strong if you want this cam to lock in place, I was completely unable to get the tabs to lock in place.

Comments about Thule Aero Foot Pack:
The product itself is great. Thule makes great racks and components and the Aero Foot Pack is no exception. One issue I had was during installation. In order to lock the bar into place you either have to have super human strength or you have to out smart the instruction manual. What I did was attach the screws and screwed the clamps until they locked, it was very easy and should be written that way in the instructions. Once they are on, they are a breeze to use, they are very secure, and they don't hurt the car.

Comments about Thule Aero Foot Pack:
I bought the Aero foot pack & recommended fit kit to replace the 4-yr-old ones I had that were rusted-out and disintegrating. I carry a bike attachment & Thule Frontier luggage box, when needed. They've done a slight redesign, and in my opinion, not for the better. The bolt and plastic handle/cap are now one-piece and I found it difficult to screw in. The handle blocks your view when you're trying to screw the bolt in (and not cross-thread it!). And the addition of a plastic "stylized" cover, seems just silly & useless to me. Plus, the first time I drove my car after installing the new feet, it seems the wind going through those covers causes an irritating whistling sound as I drive! Can't say I'm anxious to take it all off again to remove those covers...I might just break them off with a hammer! haha! Overall, I like Thule and their products seem durable...just don't know why they had to fix what wasn't broken.

Comments about Thule Aero Foot Pack:
Had a time getting installation instructions for my mazda6 wagon finalized-even though fit guide calls out mazda 6 station wagon, the instructions don't. Give up in getting any email answers from Thule-your on your own. Finally followed sedan dimensions. Took a couple of attempts to get it installed-not that intuitive install the first time. But now I can get it on and off with minimum effort. YOU WILL NEED THE 871 FAIRING. Have not noticed any mileage reduction but the noise at 65-70 is loud.... I also used LB50 bars and 2135 fit kits recommended.

Comments about Thule Aero Foot Pack:
Be warned that if you have a 2004-2007 style Toyota Prius, this is a nightmare to install. There are multiple steps that simply are impossible to perform without improvising. Unless you are extremely handy or can have this professionally installed, I would avoid this for a Prius. I did finally get mine successfully installed, but it took 3 days and lots of problem solving when the steps in the instructions were either unclear or physically impossible. What a nightmare. And yes, I had the proper fit kit for my car.

Comments about Thule Aero Foot Pack:
First I love my racks. I am an avid kayaker and haul my kayak around on my 2 door honda accord. I read countless reviews of Yakima, Thule and other off name brands. I settled on the Thule and couldn't be happier. I agree with the other reviewers that they are a little hard to install the first time bc you have to be strong (or use leverage) to put the racks initially together. Although now that they are together, it only take me 5 minutes to install my racks. I would have been worried if the racks were not well constructed and didn't fit tightly together. Yakima racks have a tendency to come unclipped and fall off bc they are loosely put together and poorly designed. I have read numerous reports on kayak fishing websites titled "kayak falls off car due to bad rack". They always have yakima (or had until it fell off). Don't let the other reviews scare you away. I wouldn't buy anything else.

Comments about Thule Aero Foot Pack:
After 20 years of using Thule and Yakima roof racks, I can confidently say these Thule towers are the worst rack product I have ever purchased. Too many plastic components that appear fragile and will likely break (a few non mission critical parts already have).
Installation was difficult but within reason for a roof rack. Usefulness however is totally unacceptable. The screw-in-to-tighten method is both inefficient and difficult to use. One of my 4 locks in completely impossible to engage, rendering it useless. Furthermore the locks rotate within the lock housing, making it impossible to tell when the lock is loosened.
In summary, these are complete junk and will be returned to REI as soon as possible. What I would not give for a set of the old style Yakima lever action towers.

Comments about Thule Aero Foot Pack:
Installation instructions are clear and the product does what it is designed to do. Very happy with it. Is a little difficult to install as a one person project. Can be done but, two people would be easier.

Comments about Thule Aero Foot Pack:
Installation is difficult as others have stated but Thule has good instructions on their web-site.[...] described a method that worked but I think that the description provided was unclear, in that the rack was placed on the car roof with the fit kit in place and then the screw used to pull the cam in place. Thanks[...] also was very confused by Thule's instructions; but after I figured out how to do it, a couple of minutes was spent in getting the demensions correct and less then a minute getting each of the cam locks secured.
