The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Topeak Aero Expanding Wedge - Medium:
I bought two of these, foole me twice shame on me. It is a very nice bag, but the clip that secures it to the seat is plastic. Twice, after hitting unexpected pot-holes at 20-23 mph, the clip broke leaving my saddle bag draggin on my wheel when I was 30 miles from home. If they made this more sturdy, this would be ideal given its robust size and sturdy (other) materials. If you don't hit hard bumps this might work well for you. I stored Blackburn CO2 pump, extra cartidge, tube, tire levers, patch kit, mini tire gauge, a little cash, and my cell phone in this with little difficulty.

Comments about Topeak Aero Expanding Wedge - Medium:
This is a well-constructed, rugged bag with plenty of room for all the repair stuff you want on a daily commute. But I found this bag wouldn't work under just any saddle - my Brooks women's saddle was too short. My WTB saddle had longer rails and it worked okay (with a bit of a squeeze). If you don't have a lot of seat tube exposed, that could cause a fit problem as well.
The main reason I liked the bag was the positioning of the light strap on the back. This strap is plenty stiff and, with some adustments, my rear blinky light was actually facing the traffic behind me instead of pointing down toward my rear wheel.

Comments about Topeak Aero Expanding Wedge - Medium:
Very disappointed. The plastic mount from the bag to my seat broke within 2 miles of riding on the first day of use. I had just ridden up a curb onto a trail and heard a "snap". My wife was behind me and told me to pull over. It snapped the plastic piece clean off the mount. Would have really sucked if I had been out in the middle of nowhere and had to carry my stuff home. Read the reviews today and it seems like this is a common occurrence. Will replace with a bad w/o a plastic mount. REI should not carry this bag.

Comments about Topeak Aero Expanding Wedge - Medium:
This could be a great bag; but the 'quick click fixer' is super poor quality. After only using for about 300 miles (3 weeks).. I looked down to see the 'clip' had snapped. I had not hit a pot hole; normal road riding - clearly vibration - but, I would not expect the bag to detach from the saddle. The velcro band on the seat post prevented the bag from falling into the spokes of the wheel.I just read other reviews that had the same issue; this bag should be on a recall list! I have had other Topeak bags that did not have this problem. [...]

The quick release mechanism does not fit my Brooks saddle. I intend on getting this same bag with the strap and not the quick release. Bag appears to be of very quality construction.

Comments about Topeak Aero Expanding Wedge - Medium:
This wedge fits way more stuff than I ever expected, and very convienently pops off the bike when I need to lock up and go inside somewhere. At present, I can fit the following simultaneously:
A spare tube
~40 inch backpacking strap with buckle
Combination cable lock
3 tire irons
Multitool
Screwdriver
Set of spare keys with lanyard
ID/Credit Cards
Bike computer

Comments about Topeak Aero Expanding Wedge - Medium:
Do not buy this saddle bag unless you first bring your bike to REI to see if it will fit. I had to squish it to make it clip in to place. The bag is now too pushed in and is not usable - will rub against my legs.

Comments about Topeak Aero Expanding Wedge - Medium:
This bag holds a tool kit and lightweight shirt with plenty of extra room. The strap on the back holds my rear light straight back rather than down towards the ground. The pump straps on the bottom will fit my Topeak pump, though I mount it on the frame since it came with a mounting bracket. Zippers work fine after many miles, all in all a great little saddle bag.
It would get a 5, but its difficult to get out from under the seat on my Novara Corsa, could just be the type of saddle I have (factory Novara type). I usually leave my saddle bag attached so its no big deal for me.

Comments about Topeak Aero Expanding Wedge - Medium:
Although it unzips to "expand", it barely fits under the saddle when zipped. The extra space would be great if there were room to expand. Otherwise, it's just a bulkier, more expensive wedge.

Comments about Topeak Aero Expanding Wedge - Medium:
Bought this thing about 18 months ago for when I go mountain biking to store a patch kit, basic tools, and pump, wallet, and snacks.
Worked great for the first few months, including a 600 miler trip from San francisco to Orange county. Then a few months ago the zipper tip broke off so it made the zipper hard to move.
Two weeks ago I went mountain biking and after going off a jump the plastic on top of the pouch broke off. Now i can not use it anymore which im a little bummed out about. I guess i'll have to go with the camelbak until I buy a new seat pouch.
