Comments about CamelBak Rain Cover:
I bought this for a 2010 Camelbak Cloudwalker that I use for day hiking. The first time I tried this, I was biking after a hard drenching rain. Getting it on my backpack was not difficult. The outside got some minor mud stripes that came off easily. However, my bag and the inside of the cover had a lots of moisture on them. The second time I tried it was was a month later on a night hike; I used it for the visibility. After 2 hours, the outside was dry (it was a clear night), but again, my bag and inside the cover were quite wet. I realized that I was sweating through my fleece jacket and cotton shirts, and it was condensing on the inside of the cover because it is so water tight. To solve this problem, I had to wear a waterproof shell to prevent moisture from my sweat from condensing on the inside of the cover.
I feel this is a great product at a reasonable price. It folds up flat and weighs almost nothing. I just had to learn how to use it properly.

Comments about CamelBak Rain Cover:
This is a great rain cover. The smallest size fits by Thule laptop backpack and then some. It is rated to fit up to a 1200 cu in. bag or something like that so it fits just right. There is a velcro strap at the top for you to strap to the top handle of any pack. The trick for getting it to stay on properly is to really cinch down on the drawstring at the bottom. It was able to handle keeping my bag dry during a pretty heavy rain for a few minutes. I dare not test it further just because it is not waterproof just very water resistant. I would say it could keep a camelbak or similar pack dry for a few hours in steady rain but it is not built to handle more than that, which is fine for me. If you are looking for a Seattle proof type rain cover I would look into the higher end versions of REI's rain covers, but if you need soemthing for your commute or a half day hike this could do the trick just fine.
Service and delivery comments:
As always delivery was faster than expected with REI. I lumped this into a larger shipment for free shipping to my apartment and was given a 5 business day time of arrival. REI outdid themselves and get it to me in 2 business days.

Comments about CamelBak Rain Cover:
This is a great alternative to the Osprey raincover... much cheaper and high visibility yellow (which is what I wanted since I would be using this while bike commuting. Fits the Talon 22 pack well.
I seem to be installing it a little differently. I route the black velcro strap of the cover along the back panel of my pack underneath the shoulder straps, through the grey loop cord, and then velcro the strap back onto itself. Then cinch the toggle at the bottom to secure the cover.

Comments about CamelBak Rain Cover:
Purchased this for commuting/hiking. Works great. Used it on a trip to the Redwood National Forest. I wasn't a big fan of using the hydration tube as a stay, so I attached a small cheap carabiner onto the loop to attach to the bag. Works great!

Comments about CamelBak Rain Cover:
Some people seem confused on how to get this rain cover onto their Camelbak. At the top there is a black velcro strap, this straps onto one of the plastic hoops on your shoulder strap. There is a small thin cord loop, this is to run your bladder hose through. The Camelbak is then surrounded with the rain cover, and drawn tight at the bottom, creating a waterproof shell around the pack.
This was a harder to find Camelbak accessory than most. I went to everyone in town, and nobody had this product. Every shop in town then (1) proceeded to try to sell me a different brand rain cover for 25-40 dollars, and (2) told me to try REI when I wasn't interested in paying twice as much as I could get this one for. I ended up ordering online and picking it up at the store about 5 days later. I'm glad to have it, as I got caught in some serious precipitation coming off Mount Sneffels and everything inside my Camelbak got soaked. Two cell phones in our group died from moisture that day. Twelve bucks is very reasonable for this product, which is has high visibility and reflectivity, is lightweight, and rolls up into a compact, easy to stow package. Once you figure out how to put it on it takes just a moment or two.

Comments about CamelBak Rain Cover:
I use the smaller one with my Trail Blazer and the larger one with my Rim Runner. Both are easy to put on and are secure once they are cinched up. Material is waterproof and will keep your pack contents dry in heavy rain.

Comments about CamelBak Rain Cover:
Product had one velcro strap and one plain strap with no way to fasten it to anything else. Returned product to store and ordered a replacement; replacement was the same. Am I supposed to tie this 7 inch strap around something with a knot?

Easy to put on with two (top and bottom) hook-loop straps that feed through a cord loop. Folds up very compact and weighs almost nothing.
