Comments about Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Deluxe Sleeping Pad - Regular:
Love this product. While my travel partner complain about deflating pads I smile knowing I'll NEVER have that problem. Admittedly, it's not quite as comfortable as a fully functioning inflating pad but oh well.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Deluxe Sleeping Pad - Regular:
I backpack and camp a lot for both business and pleasure (mostly pleasure) and I was simply tired of short, heavy inflatable pads which sometimes fail. The most important piece of gear is the pad seperating you from the cold ground. I love this pad because it cant fail, its lighter than every inflatable pad, and its four season in case you end up sleeping on snow.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Deluxe Sleeping Pad - Regular:
Bought this product based on the reviews and description, used it while snowcamping this weekend on Blewitt Pass (elev. 4000 ft.). Don't kid yourself, this pad does not "effectively insulate" against the cold in the ground. Maybe I was not quite as cold as others with a thinner pad, but I did expect more.
Comments about Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Deluxe Sleeping Pad - Regular:
I prefer foam pads over thermarest-style inflatable pads. I live in the desert and I've had multiple friends wake up with a deflated thermarest because there are so many pokey plants and cactuses here. Also, while snow camping, I find the air in the thermarest gets cold, while the foam pad effectively insulates me from the ground. I like this one! However, it *is* bulky.

for the money it performs very well, would be nice if it rolled up smaller but you can't have everything.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Deluxe Sleeping Pad - Regular:
To start, this thing is HUGE. i mean it's ginormous ! but very lightweight... so it's awesome if you can handle the bulk hanging off your pack. very durable and comfortable.
i own the Exped Downmat 7, and that has been one slow leak after another. The Ridge Rest Delux is nowhere near as comfortable as a full on inflated down mat... but it's a Cadillac of foam pads. i've not slept on any very rocky terrain yet, but it does a great job on lumpy clay and 'tufty' grass, anything this mat could not make comfortable, would be pokey enough to not trust your inflatable on anyway.
if dependability is a must, and if you can handle it being bulky, then i would get this product... it is lightweight & a very durable alternative to more expensive inflatable pads (which have, in my experiences, failed)
HIGHLY recommend.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Deluxe Sleeping Pad - Regular:
After reading several reviews on this, I thought it was going to be a lot more comfortable than my Term-a-rest air pad and my Big Agnes but that wasn't the case. I love the fact that this is a 25" wide pad because I fit on it so much better. That was the main reason for buying this pad. I also like the fact that I didn't slip and slide on this pad like I do the others. I will try this with a blue foam pad and see if it's a little more comfortable next time.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Deluxe Sleeping Pad - Regular:
We use this on top of our REI inflatable pads and they make an extremely comfortable bed. We first tried them on the bottom layer and put the air cushions on top, but it's more comfortable to use them on top. Provides a firm sleep surface and does not slide. I have a bad back, but I am pain-free today after a good nights rest! Highly recommend! Easy to roll up and keep clean!
