Comments about Open Country 5-Piece Sierra Backpacking Set:
Bought this set as I needed a 2qt pot for 2 people back packing meals. Originally bought when shopping for a young boy scout with backpacking in mind and thought the two pots could service both adults and youth needs. I liked the idea of the pot grabber vs the bail handle for control. We mostly use only the 2qt and leave the smaller one at home to save weight. The 2qt is big enough to house all the cook gear and utensils needed for a trip including cleaning gear, lighter and Gaz Twister stove. It makes packing easy and cooking easy too. Just grab the stuff sack with the pot in it and a canister of gas and you have the entire backpacking kitchen in hand. I liked its light weight but was concerned that it might not be durable. It does dent easily, but they "pop" out easily as well. The only thing I really wish was different was that there were rings or a texture on the bottom to grip the stove better. Be careful, you can dump your dinner with this baby. It will slide off a backpacking stove if not properly watched. I also wish they sold the two pots separately with the pot grabber as I found I do not need the smaller one. I need the 2 qt to house my cooking and cleaning gear and it has been big enough to provide for even the largest 2 person meal on the trail. Its negatives are outweighed but the fact that it is a light weight and affordable backpacking pot that gets the job done and is easy to clean. It is still the best bang for the buck in my book.
