Comments about REI Rain Bonnet:
This seemed like a great idea but we had two problems. The first is that the snaps that attach the rain bonnet to the carrier don't stay snapped - kind of a problem, and second that you can't unzip the mesh in the front if all you want is a sun shade. It may be enough to force us to return the whole kit and start with something new.

Comments about REI Rain Bonnet:
We love the whole package! We got this carrier for our 4month old and she loves it. The rain bonnet works great for shading her when we go out during the day and keeps her from getting wet if it's drizzling.

Comments about REI Rain Bonnet:
this should be called a sun bonnet, it works great for keeping the sun out of baby's eyes but I wouldn't do too much hiking in the rain with this, of course I live in western WA where it really rains. one thing I didn't like about this bonnet was that the screen sides don't go all the way down to the carrier, making it easy for bugs to fly in and irritate my little hiking buddy.

Comments about REI Rain Bonnet:
This, in my opinion is a must have. It is easy to setup and keep my daughter in the shade. We don't take her out in this in the rain, so I can't comment on that. I usually keep the side vents open, and the rain top vent open for air circulation.
