by fromMatches Novara Safari I had ordered the Novara Safari touring Bicycle after much research online, and at local bike shops. The bicycle was 99% of what I was looking for, perfect in all aspects but one. Handlebar height. All reviews I have seen mention this fact on every size frame of the Safari. Due to the thread-less stem design, there was no way to adjust this problem, so a riser was the only way to correct it. The Delta Thread-less Stem Riser is a perfect match for the Safari, and without any adjustment of the gear or brake cables, I was able to install this item and raise the bars to the height I require. While the bars did move back a fraction closer to the seat, it is of no difference. I recommend this item to anyone that purchases a Safari and needs the height of the handlebars raised without any changes to the bicycle other than loosening and re-tightening of some allen screws. From the 99% perfect bike, it is now 100% for me.

by fromworks, requres careful installation This stem riser really helps take pressure/weight off these old wrists. In reading reviews and info from REI I did not see mentioned the necessity (IMO) of using a torque wrench to safely install this riser. The riser is at a critical junction and could create a potentially dangerous situation. It really needs to be installed with a torque wrench after putting bike grease on the bolt threads.

by fromWorks & installs perfectly Easy to install, you do need a long 5mm hex driver to install the stem bolt. I don't like the highrise bars, I prefer a flat bar and this gives me the 3 inch rise I want with the flat bar that came on my bike. This stem riser is a real bargain, a new highrise bar would cost between $75 - $160.

by fromBetter for my back Fits great and was really easy to install. A friend gave me his old bike and I needed to fit it to me. This riser helped my back out during long rides and prevented my arms from locking up.

by fromBack Saver on old Mountain Bicycle The stem extender was pivotal to the success of retrofitting my 1994 Park Pre Mountain Bicycle. While the raised stem makes aggressive twisty trail riding a little less nimble, it makes family leisure rides amazingly more comfortable. 3 inches goes a long way to improving back posture. Another user recommended really tightening the attachment bolts, which I did, and never had an issue with the riser coming loose. Only had to lengthen one brake cable to span the new distance. Great update.

by fromOutstanding! Works great! Just detach the handlebars, attach this to your stem, reattach the handlebars, and you raise your handlebars by nearly 4." The best part is that you can stack them, which is what I did. So I bought two, and stacked them, and the work great.

by fromRiser takes pressure off shoulders The riser was very easy to install. By raising the handlebar height, it takes pressure off your shoulders and wrists. On a Metro, you will need a front brake cable that is about 3" longer
