    Comments about Petzl Rocpecker SDS Drill Holder:

    This is not the tool to grid bolt your newly discovered sport crag. However, if you are doing traditional FA's, or canyoneering decents having a drill and knowing how to use it could save your hide. 3/8 or 1/2" SDS bits drill quickly and up to 6in deep in Sedona sandstone with a 2.5lb hammer. Before you place a bolt, PLEASE, think about: Is it really necessary, Is it the best place for it. Climb Safe!

      Comments about Petzl Rocpecker SDS Drill Holder:

      With the right drill bit, this tool allows you to drill into rocks. It works really well in calcium carbonate rich rocks (softer rocks) and sandstone. I use it for caving (if and only if it is necessary for safety) where good protection is rare. It is nice that the drilling action works by pushing, no need for electricity (not that you can easily take a generator)...
