Comments about Ortlieb Office Bag - Large:
I purchased this bag two years ago and have been extremely satisfied! I'll never buy anything but Ortlieb again. In fact, I just ordered another one from them, and that just reinforced my decision, great design, good engineering. My back has never been happier - I commute 5 days a week with a laptop in a padded case with clothes and this bag is awesome!

Comments about Ortlieb Office Bag - Large:
This bag is great I recieved it as a gift 8 months ago and have been using it every day. I carry a 15" laptop in a padded insert, change of clothes, wallet, phone, tube, pump and a jacket with no problem.
With many of the other panniers a laptop is unsteady or bulky, this bag puts it back far enough for no heel interference (with size 11 mtn bike shoes), it is 100 waterproof which is essential for the rainy weather we have here in Pittsburgh.
You can't go wrong, I have tried other panniers and backpacks and this is the best for transporting a laptop and change of clothes.

Comments about Ortlieb Office Bag - Large:
I have used this bag on my daily commute (15 miles r/t) for last 6 months. Ample storage, and well constructed. Shoulder strap configuration is a bit odd, but don't use it that much anyways (mainly use the handle strap)
Very Waterproof - Yesterday I rode in rain for entire commute, nothing inside got wet. Also like not having to put a waterproof bag over pannier when it starts raining.

Comments about Ortlieb Office Bag - Large:
I'm a graduate student that commutes to school and figured the office bag would be a great way to keep the load off my back during the ride.
The bag itself is really well constructed. The feet keep the bag off the ground and the interior lining ensures the contents stay dry. The interior sides of the bag have organizer pockets for pens and small items such as business cards, an mp3 player, etc.
However, the bag itself uses a roll-top closure which is great for keeping out the rain, but inconvenient for quick access. Additionally, there aren't any external pockets so the bag is really just one big space to hold stuff. Minus the internal pockets, there's no real way to help stay organized.
Additionally, I use a folding bike for my commutes around the bay area and even with a touring rack, I had problems with heel strike. The Ortlieb mounting system is quick and easy to use but the configuration of my folder wasn't compatible with the bag. This probably wouldn't be the case on a standard bike with a rack, but was something I couldn't remedy. Also, there's no way to cover up the mounting system so occasionally it can dig into your back or side with it slung over the shoulder.
All in all this bag has the defining characteristics of a great pannier but is mediocre and lacking as a bookbag. If you're looking for a briefcase, this will probably suit your needs but as a student who lives out of his backpack, I found the Ortlieb office bag a little lacking.

Comments about Ortlieb Office Bag - Large:
Solid water proof construction, good for bike commuter who need to carry laptop, i had fallen but laptop was intact.Con is the shoulder strap design is not good, one side is attached with bag with solidly, however other side is attached with tiny screw, and it becomes loose every week (i commute 5 days a week for about 11 miles for round trip), it was annoying, and I ended up returning it to[...]. I sent the comment to Ortlieb and they gave me back a comment in timely manner (to be fair, they seem to have good CS) and they said they would have exchanged with new bag as they believe that was manufacturing deficit, i thought it was more of an issue of design flaw, and I just returned it.If you are not going to use shoulder strap at all, this would be a good companion of your commuting, but as this bag is large, you can stuff lots of things, and it will be quite heavy, and you want to use shoulder strap...Otherwise, I would recommend if they re-designed shoulder strap attachment.
